Since everyone seems to have the attention span of a rabid squirrel, and people are still posting threads about this asking for a link to the ad, here.

As far as I know I'm the first one to post this link, which was actually posted on YouTube by CCP. It is available to view in high quality, and can be expanded to full screen.
This video, as well as the second teaser video for Empyrean Age, is viewable on http://www.eveonline.com/war, though I found equally fascinating the flash banner at the top. Just watch it for a while... mmm pretty explosions.

first 3 seconds should've been "war is coming" just to warm people up, then the video and in the end the web site address..

Might want to add that putting '&fmt=18' at the end of the youtube link will give it highres. Aka.

Lies, all lies. Last time I checked I pwned the rabid squirrel attention-wise, with mine lasting a whole 30 seconds longer!

The thing I think is missing from that video is the fact that that station being damaged actually exists in the game, and it IS damaged.
No idea how you could put that in. but that fact just makes the video twice as cool as an advertisement for the game.

I think that the Second Teaser would have been better for TV Advertisement. It gives a better feel of the Ships and Fleets for people who know nothing of EVE.

Not a great ad to be honest. *flame suit on*
It's a nice video for people who already play Eve as we all know what the expansion is about and how significant it is that someone should pilot a multi-billion ISK ship into a station. For the uninitiated though without any frame of reference it's "just a ship suiciding on a station".
In terms of drama a reworked Trinity trailer (Youtube link for the short attention span folk) would've been better imo, plus the music in that video is so grand it gives me goosebumps

It threw me when that Ad played during BSG, I literally was trying to figure out when I had switched my Monitor over to my TV.

I was actually a bit disappointed in the vid since it is probably the first not made with purely in game footage. Then again I guess a 30 second spot ending with a Nyx bouncing off a station isn't quite as dramatic.

It would have been kind of cool to be outside the system and have a nyx appear on the overview though and then watch it fly into the station.
how many pilots would done the "WTF!?" and **** their pants?

without context, this ad means nothing except to people who know the game..and, frankly, it reminds me of 9/11. Better to use the other teaser, or, have a contest or lottery of some kind, and have an eve player put together a new commercial.

let me be clear, I don't think the ad was bad per se, it will draw interest..but the fleet standoff one was better IMO, as it would make one want to find out about a game where one could be a part of said fleet.

Im guessing your one of the people who gets reminded of 9/11 by every little thing. Gota love how americans blow things way out of proportion.
I do agree that it wasnt the best add to show though. The stand of add would have been alot better as it shows that tensions are really building. But then none of the current 2 trailers are that great at getting new people into the game. Probably only good at getting a few old players to come back for a month after it is released.

I personally think that a lot of the player vidoes surpass the CCP movies in some ways, MC's videos were really good. part of the ting is the battles in the trailers kinda paint a different picture from real battle footage. I'd get a GM in a polaris to follow one of the major alliances around getting footage for a trailer. __________________________________________________ |
