This is a shot in the dark but im looking for some actual Ramen recipies. Im the default cook in my family and every now and then I like to experiment with making dishes that are typically well out of the norm for what we eat.
Anyway to the point, ive been surfing the net looking for some decent dishes but rather surprisingly its hard to find recipies that dont involve short cutting and using instant ramen in some form. If possible, can someone recomend a site or recipie for someone who would just be starting out? -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

When I was in prison (did 6 years, I was a bad boy when I was 19) Maruchan's ramen noodles were the staple of our diets because it was really the only thing on the commissary other than snacks like chips and summer sausages and such. So, we used what we could get from commissary and what we could either steal from the kitchen or pay someone else to smuggle out of the kitchen (the officers' mess had good stuff, mushrooms, onions, peppers, etc.).
Chi-Chi 1/2 of a large bag of cheese curls, crushed. 1/2 of a medium summer sausage, diced. (may substitute one whole kielbasa, diced) 4 blocks of Maruchan Top Ramen noodles, broken up by hand.(hold the flavor packets for later)
Place all current ingredients into one empty large potato chip/cheese curls bag, shake vigorously until well mixed.
At this point, you have options. Depending on what seasonings or garnishes you are able to afford and/or liberate from the kitchen, you might alter the recipe. This will also determine what flavor packets from the soups you use (if any) - but beware!!! Do not use more than one whole flavor packet, ever, or you will end up with nothing more than a salty, inedible mess in the end.
Possible choices include mushrooms, peppers, onions, various types of meats, even crab meat works well here. Just be careful not to use any type of meat that will conflict with the other flavors you're using.
Add your seasonings and garnishes, possible including a half-pack of crushed up cheddar cheese sandwich *****ers for a more full bodied texture. Pour in hot water (180 degrees Fahrenheit) until bag is almost full to the top of the noodle mixture, and knead the mixture to distribute water and avoid 'dry pockets' of uncooked noodles and seasonings. Seal bag and let rest completely immersed in hot water for not less than 20 minutes.
Split bag open, stir well before serving. Serves 4.

I don't care about the recipes but the prison-story was awesome.
Someone try that recipe and see if it ends up in something edible. ^_^

As I said in the second half of my post I surfed the web, IE used google. Everything I found involved short cutting using premade ramen which isnt surprisng considering how google does its thing. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:
