Row, Sounds like the aggresors showed up with Battleships to take your POS or the fleet helping you out pulled the trigger too fast if there were no Capital kills? My fee is that I get the option of prefered pricing for a month on some of what your moon produces, not for re-sale, but for my own use in what I build etc. This fee applies only if the response saves the POS.
Once you email me the POS situation I will match the response with the right size RC if there is one available at the POS RM end time. If there is not one available then my next step will be to establish the best price with a reputable Merc Corp capable of handling the job. Depending on if the Merc fee (if any) is acceptable to you it will be held by me until the job is done.
Currently I am working on offering "POS Gunners" with my service which would be Clients of mine with available characters at Level-4 or 5 Starbase Defense skills. If the POS owner wants a little help with the guns, they can make a couple quick hires for the day and then kick them out when the job is done. - MM

This is the first time you have mentioned a fee. I think you need to put this information in you first post. Not that it is unreasonable... just that people need to know upfront what costs are going to be when they talk to you.

Passin, As always thanks for the heads up on the update. I wanted to come up with a fee that was not going to be a burden on the POS owner since there was already enough isk at risk with the POS being attacked and the possibility of a Merc fee as well.
It's also a way of keeping the isk coming in for the POS owner as well as make another business contact.
Thread has been updated and fine tuned a little so there is new content/details painted in for the readers that have seen the thread a few times already - MM

It occurs to me that someone unscrupulous could make money on both sides of this activity.

You might want to look at having a "summit" of sorts with some of your peeps... to think through the following questions: 1.) Do folks get paid? Up front or after? (perhaps a general pricing strategy as well) 2.) What about losses? Who pays for those? Or is this just a bunch of folks looking for action with their cap ships? 3.) Could it be run as a sort of insurance deal? POS owners pay in monthly or quarterly? 4.) If so -- what happens if no one shows up? 5.) Who works the intel and cynos? 6.) How do you handle a counter drop etc?
Does anyone else have any thoughts or questions along these lines?

I was wondering all this myself and have been watching here for answers to these same questions.
-How much advance notice? -How are we sure this isn't a hotdrop of someone wanting the location of a pos about to go off reinforced?
-Advance notice? Well, 1 day 17hours. so a 24hr notice for Hot Drop to mobilize a cyno ***** to that area? well, i'll assume if they're on contract they have a jump clone nearby for that.
-backstabbing? Well, that's pointless since (a) if it's valuable enough to consider ruining their rep, it's probably not a good idea for the contractee to own such a valuable moon without inhouse support, capiche? (b) they're going to be accused of it anyways, so they don't care about your opinion.
I think it's a great idea and i wish them well. They'll be defending the small timer POS owners who don't have cap support. On the downside, i've seen waaaaay too many idiotically defended poses that i think Hot Drop might be contracting to macrominer/iskfarmer corps or morons who think system scanning arrays are uber in low sec. Like i said, i wish them well, but any idiot who can't equip their pos to scare off part time pirates needs alot more therapy than hot drop. But morons won't bother with stront in their tower, so they'll never get help in time. heeheh

Qara & Lykah,
So far so good and I am glad to report none of my clients have been morons. I have been very pleased to see that most are well prepared and are able to provide excellent details regarding their attackers. The details have assisted the RC's with thier response times as well as the ability to help repair the tower post Ref time. With this game seeming to get harder and harder for new players to gain a foot hold due to sh*t bags praying on them, I have developed a new faith through seeing the "old guard" dropping in to lend a hand. New relationships have started and in most cases the op has ended with the RC telling the client to call them anytime..
As always, convo or email me I am glad to help out - MM
