Edited by: Eventy One on 05/06/2008 14:43:23 As a Caldari, I have to note, as many other Caldari have already noted privately in conversation, that in this dark moment for our race many thoughtful wishes of solidarity, hope, and best wishes have been extended by many of the Amarr race.
Thank you!
While other races have kicked at the stand and stared at their feet, the Amarr have again shown the great nobleness of their race, by standing firmly with us against dark times, and dark actions. The Amarr have shown singular purpose, and strength in the face resistive oppression, and the Caldari appreciate it.
With the rise of our new, strong leader, I can only hope that the Amarr people and the Caldari people find greater unity than we have already. My hope is that the rest of the empyrean races can take as an example, the noble spirit, and philosophical strength of the Amarr, and the technological, and organizational might of the Caldari.
To the Amarr then, please accept my thanks, for thinking of us, and for wishing us well. You truly are a great people.

Your thanks are not required, pilot Eventy One. All sensible peoples in the Cluster must support each other, especially from the terrible provocations of the amoral and decadent Federation and the depravations of the brutal Matari. Whatever happens, the Empire will see it through - and we shall bring our allies with us. ____________________

Death to Slavery.
Major Death, I've answered you on this issue elsewhere. I wrote:
Quote: Nobel idea.
I assume you're really only speaking of that in the Amarr empire? I assume you know that 'slave' is a legal status in the Amarr empire?
I assume you also know that the Gallente empire, nor the Minmatar empire have no such legal states as 'slave'.
Once you end slavery in the Amarr empire will you move on to the Gallente empire where Intaki, or others work in conditions worse than slavery, and without legal protection a legal status provides? The Gallente empire where slaves are not called slaves, they are called labourers yet the condition of whose existence rivals the worse in any system anywhere including those belonging to the Amarr?
How about the Minmatar Empire where tribesmen, indenture tribesmen, and Brutors or others, toil for a pittance, long hard days and dangerous days; many die so that the Minmatar empire can produce its weapons so it can end slavery.
I suppose it is ok for fellow members of one's race to control the very existence of others if one pretends to pay them a fair day's wage (whether it is or not is irrelevant?)
Somehow I think your 'intolerance' of 'slavery' extends only the use of the word. If the Amarr abolished slavery status and transferred all who held slave status, into a new catagory 'honoured labourer' your narrow definition of slavery would be saitiated and your shallow concern met.
Yes. Lets then, end slavery.
If you don't think it takes labourers for our own empire to achieve greatness, you are sorely mistaken. Our labours do not bear the legal status of 'slave' and accordingly have no protection that that status provides.
Wash the blood off your own hands first.

An interesting point of fact: there is no CONCORD-sanctioned law prohibiting or even levying sanctions of any sort against destroying slave transports anywhere, whether it's in Matari space, or outside the Emperor's Familiy Academy in Amarr. I don't argue that it upsets the Amarr, but this doesn't concern me in much the same way as it doesn't concern the Empire that I'm unhappy by their continued slave raids and abuse of my people. And while the Empire may consider this a violations of the laws set down by their dead 'god', I'm willing to disregard the laws of a religeon and empire I'm not beholden to in much the same way that they fail to recognize Matari law.
So it seems that until the Amarrian 'god' steps up from the hell you keep him in and smites me where I sit, we are at an impasse. And considering that the 'god' in question can't even provide an emperor to lead his beloved children, I'm willing to risk that fate.
We come for our people!

Still, this isn't a post dedicated to your random anti-Amarrian propaganda, this is a Caldari pilot thanking the Amarr for their support. As other Amarrian pilots have stated, the Empire is happy to stand by our allies in their time of need.

Maybe, but thats another days work and another days fight. Today its the evil of slavery that exists in the Amarr empire. Plus you exagerate the problems with the Intaki for your own nefarious ends.

I feel a Caldari-Amarr alliance would only be one of convienance, rather than shared ideals. If I were still living in the State, I'd definately welcome their assistance should it be available; but that dosen't immediately justify, in my eyes, the status of 'friend' and you should most certaintly not have to depend on them.
The Empire can be very overbearing at times and the Amarr and Caldari are very different people. I would hope the State knows to remain distant in these affairs. ...

The only real bond between the Caldari and the Amarr is their common dislike for the Gallente. Even then, they each dislike the Gallente for different reasons. A post-war world with the Amarr and Caldari being the only two civilizations left standing would ultimately end in each trying to subdue the other. -----------------------------------------------

I think there is more to it then that. Consider what attracks the Gallente to the Minmatar; both are disjointed and poorly organized.
The Minmatar infect themselves with tribalism and consequently cannot unit against anything. Similarly Gallente, profess to value freedom, and creativity, and with such idealistic but poorly focus'd goals for society are perhaps more developed than the Minmatar by and large, but exhibit thei own bohemian form of tribalism. They also remain unable to unite in anything except perhaps denying Caldari the freedom to explore, expand, develop and innovate. So much for the freedom loving society.
Caldari and Amarr do differ, however there are commonalities. Caldari society is structured by corporations, Amarr society structured by ruling families. With respect to governance really not much differce where power is concentrated in blocks, and interaction between blocks ultimate what constantly invogates both Caldari and Amarr politics.
Now that we have Heth who has united the corporations, were are more like the Amarr were when they had an Emperor. The Amarr are philosophically strong, driven and innovative, the Caldari, technologically.
As much as the Minmatar and Gallente are united in disorder - the Caldari and the Amarr are united in order.

I had to consult my NeoCom to look up the expression 'fascist dictatorship', as I wasn't famaliar with it. Apparently it was an expression from the past before the EVE gate closed. It seems to have been an overly used meaningless term applied by a particular political block to decry their political opponents. Historical fascism did not always entail a corporate state and so its use was not to convey any meaningful information, but rather its usage was only for emotional effect. I suppose you could say it was a hollow term.
I appreciate your effort to resurrect a long dead expression from the past, but I suspect it had a greater emotional impact on those in the past than it does right now.

An alliance between the amarr and caldari is merely a convenience but a very useful one at that. The only thing our two races have in common is our mutual hate of the gallenteans and their minmattar tribalist allies. However, a combination of caldari technology and amarrian strength of will and faith will dominate the galaxy.
I wish you and the state well eventy! The amarr always support their friends.
