ok today is my first day writing for the igb. so i read this whole thread <gasp> and i didnt see any mention of problems with the href="evemail..." tag. in short, i can't get it to work. the example shows href=evemail:charname or href=evemailto:charname. neither will work. check my url for yourself - i put up examples of each syntax.
http://www.thereverend.org/eve/dkts/
also, mousing over one evemail link highlights all of them - why is that?

You used the wrong "-signs at the start of the href attribute in the <A> tag. I guess you have copied them from the IGB manual.

yeh i did. isn't that what examples are for?
ok yeah it works now. newb mistake on my part, but i think a legitimate IGB documentation comment would be: if you are going to provide example code, MAKE SURE IT WORKS.

38. General: Image reloading Try this: setup a page with an image, load it in IGB, replace the image-file with another with the same name (different size and date though) and reload or revisit the page. IGB will still show the cached page. I'd suggest having the reload button work like in popular browsers: always ignore the cache if a user pressed the reload button.
Is there any word on being able to get this fixed? I've created an extension to the magma mineral index for use in my corp that will store previous values of the index and display a graph based upon these values. The graph is generated using php and out of game all is well, however in the IGB the images aren't reloaded even if they have changed. Kind of destroys the point of having dynamically generated images. You have to manually clear the image from the cache folder before it will update to the other one. I've tried including an 'Expired' header with a date in the past but that had no effect.
This is going to be a real headache for me since I intend to create a website for my corp with LOTS of graphs in it. Any chance it could be rectified?

Maybe it is an option to give every picture a random number on it in the php file. That way i solved the problem at my igb page.

Edited by: Karhig Duruckhai on 19/12/2004 14:46:10 Yeah, thats what I've done but thats a pain in the arse and a hack to get around a problem with the IGB. If the IGB could just be fixed that would be far better.

Not really a bug, but a feature that will remain largely useless: the showinfo() function. It has some nice potential, but what is really needed are some tools for sitedevs to get a hold of some of the needed id's. (for items, characters, systems and corps alike)
Now, I realize we can hardly expect some dev to dump the entire game-DB into a textfile or, heavens forbid, an Excel sheet. The download alone would be a killer. But some stuff would be really nice to get by some search: player character id, player corp id and item-id. Perhaps a simple added field to the info windows for these entities?
For people who agree: -do- check out the excelsheet posted in the devblog a while ago. It has identifiers for systems, constellations, regions, agents, etc. that match the id needed for showinfo.

I agree there should be an easy way to get that info without nasty hacking stuff..
- Grismar's characterID is 795973679 (so says the link on your avatar's portrait )
- Most items can be found in the item database, e.g. an Atron is item no. 608 (as the URL says)
I am seriously thinking about dumping the whole site into my own DB similar to what Heikki did for the updated EVEDudePlus' ships.ini-file. -----

Images are not cached if they have pagma: no-cache set.
example code in php: <? header ("Content-Type: image/png\nPragma: no-cache"); $im=imagecreate(250,150); imagepng($im); ?>

ok, that worked, cheers. Theres a typo in your example 'npragma' should read 'pragma' but I figure people can work that out. I also had to send the extra header info as a new header(); function call, but that could just be down to my own ineptness. Thanks for clearing up how to do it properly though.

\n is a newline. So it is no nPragma but newline Pragma ;)

Is the css problem with more than 1 table solved? No nested tables, just more than one table under eachother.

It is not really resolved, but i know what causes it. It will be fixed in the next patch. Traveler Polaris Bug Hunter Lead |

I found a new problem concerning forms.
taking the next form as an example:
<form name="testform" action="nextpage" method="post"> <input type="text" name="textbox1" tabindex="1"> <input type="text" name="textbox2" tabindex="2"> <input type="text" name="textbox3" tabindex="3"> </form>
When i want to process this form with the following ASP code:
<% For x = 1 To Request.Form.count() Response.Write(Request.Form.key(x)) Response.write("<br>") Next %>
The result is that the form items are all mixed up. They don't follow the order i gave them in the forum. This works perfectly in IE and Firefox.
Kind regards,
