Edited by: Thohamon Set on 09/06/2008 10:46:42 I am trying to find new agents but getting tired of searching em out only to see i cant use em. I dont understand how to get the required prereqs
Example....what does this mean and where do i find out on my character screen the info its looking for...
Level: 1, Quality: 19, Required standing: 0,95
I dont understand the Standing part....right now when i look at say Caldari Navy it says....something like Satisfactory and I see a number of .50 .
How do you get better standing...I keep running missions

It means you need 0.95 corp standing to use that agent. run more missions with a lower level/quality agent. -------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, we need some kind of separation between the post and signature. There you go. Now that wasn't so hard |

There are 3 types of standing with an agent - Personal, Corp, and Faction. You need at least one of those to be above the required standing to use an agent. (You also need ALL of them to be above -2.0)
Gaining corp standing is quite slow but is the best way to move to a new agent. Faction standing gains only come from "Important" (that is "Storyline") missions or COSMOS missions which you don't care about at this point in your EVE career. Once you gain faction standing you can use any agent for any corp in that faction. However you also lose faction standing for that faction's enemies so you can lock yourself out of half of empire by doing this.
Another way to gain standing is to train social skills. Connections or Diplomacy to level 3 will get you instant access to low-quality level 2 agents and all level 1s.
Standing required for an agent = 2 x (Level - 1) + (Quality / 20)

The best way to get a bit of standing is to train your Social and Connection skills to at least 3. Dong that will increase your standing gains and your general standing with all the corporations in factions where you have even minimal positive standing.
In one of the sticky in the New citizer or Mission sections of the forum there should be a guide to the standing and its effects.

Edited by: Zulu Six on 09/06/2008 11:44:24 Every mission you get gives you standings with the corporation and the agent who gave you the mission. Storyline missions will give you standings with that corporation's overall faction (and a smaller increase toward other factions affiliated with the primary faction who gave you the mission.)
You can see only agents that are available to you by going into your Character Sheet, to the Standings section. Go to Liked By and look for the corporation you want to run missions for. Click the blue icon to the right to bring up the Show Info window.
From there, go into the Agents tab, and you will see a list of divisions. Agents in different divisions tend to give different types of missions. For instance, Security agents give combat (Encounter) missions more often, while a Trade agent will likely give you a Market or Courier mission more often. If you click on one of the Divisions, you'll see the tab open up into a list of all the agents in that Division of the corporation. This list of agent names will be divided into "Available to you" and "Not available to you". You will be able to see where the agents are located, what their standings requirements are, whether or not they're a Locator agent, and more.
More information about missions and agents (as well as walkthroughs of most - if not all - Encounter missions can be found at eve-survival.org which also works with the in-game browser I think).
