Can someone that was already to a FF write something about it, like what's the price of a beer there. How much is a regular meal in a normal (not super fancy) restaurant, or kebab-house. What are the prices in Mc Donald and so on. How much is one beer at the FF party?

I was very drunk, went to the first one in 2004, cant remember much (should give a good indication) as regards costs have no idea but i spent about 500 euro worth of isk over 3 days, ofc i was buying stupid ammounts of drink.

From what I remember it was 450 isk per beer at the event, which converts atm to $ 5.59 or ú 2.86, according to Yahoo Currency.
Though it was more expensive away from the event.

Anyone who has been before, from when to when (days/times) are the fanfest bits as I was wondering if to extend my stay as one previous year I looked at going the package seemed to end at the start of the last fan fest day.
Incidentally what are the 2 hotels like for single's as I tried phoning the hotel last time to check and didn't get very far.

thansk you to the person who found the british eve fest packages annoying that they coudnt annoucne them on eve website but you cnat have everythig but thanswk alot ive never been to fanfest but i always said id go this year and now i have book my flights my hotel and when the tickets come out ill be booking them as well so a big thank you and see you there ill be the one proping the bar up drunk as a skunt on vodka lol

The Package was No good for me I want to stay a little bit either side, IcelandAir's co.uk site does allow you to book hotels and the prices are quite reasonable some of the hotels were quite a bit cheaper from Icelandair than they were from other sites for the same dates and rooms.

Excellent, I see we are one step closer to getting this whole Fanfest thing going, all we need now is to be able to buy the passes. So, how about it guys, don't you want my monies?
I have my flight and hotel booked, just want to make it all 100% official and good.
On a slight side-note, is anyone sending someone away on the Sisters of Eve thing? My father (shocking, a 21 year old being escorted around by his father) is coming out with me and we are staying the week, but I was wondering about sending him away on the sisters of Eve thing, as he is neither female, nor my spouse, but I have assumed that those are just minor technicalities.

With no flights from Manchester, and the cheapest package for me and a mate to go flying from London being ú350 each then add ú50 each travel to London, and then the price of the actual Fanfest, then beer and food... It's looking less and less likely to be honest.
It looks like the total trip would cost us about ú1000 each, and for ú1500 a piece we can go to Las Vegas for a week in the Summer, and that includes ú500 table money!
Please please please please look in to some Manchester deals! And slapping Icelandair with a wet fish until they drop their prices! Hell, I went to Ireland three years ago for ú15 return, Oslo two years back for ú25 return, and one of my mates just got back from Paris, which cost him ú200 for the entire trip, and a ú300 engagement ring!

IcelandAir only fly from Manchester on Mondays and Fridays, and I cant see their hotel partners wanting to do packages for a week, or us from the Manchester/NW area wanting to miss day 1 by flying on a Friday.
On the other hand, while sorting my Iceland adventure this autumn, I used Expedia (probably cheaper sites out there) and the lowest price I got (for Tuesday thru Monday) was ú441pp in a Twin Room in the Hotel Cabin which isnt too bad. (Flight to London on the Tuesday and then transfer to an Iceland flight that day too, and a direct flight back to Manchester on the Monday). So probably cheaper if you fly on the Wednesday, and you wont miss any of FF either.
However, with Icelands costs being higher than well anywhere really, I'm finding that adding in my entertainments budget per person does take it to near the ú1000 figure you worked out. Grrrrrrr Iceland being on the expensive side.
(This isnt a dig by the way, just presenting an alternate to your research, which comes in cheaper for a longer period than the packages offer.)

If you mean Loftladir and Nordica theres a bit of a difference... Nordica is a walk away from the location while a buss or taxi is most likley required from Loftledir... And Nordica is a Hilton aswell, so it gives slighly higher bragging rights when you get home...

Aye, its a nice hotel aswell... Stayed there the past two Fan Fests now and they'll need to get much worse for me to stay somewhere else... I just need to get a Hilton Honours card for this year so I can stand in the "special" line...
Oh, one more thing... Downton is about 30 minutes walk from Nordica if I remember correctly... Not that bad but there is a shuttle that can take you there if you dont like walking...

Ok, there is something fishy I don't understand. The package from London was 279 pounds few hours ago and it's 379 now... Not to mention the fact that the site says something about 249 pounds when booking 4 nights at Cabin... What the hell??  I had all the flights figured out, got home to book the thing and now this...

Its quite nice... Eggs, bacon, saussages, melons, cod liver oil, the usual stuff for a decently fance Hotel... Its very nice actually...
On Sundays, if I remember correctly, they have a special lunchbuffe that's filled with allot of strange things and is usually crowded with locals and babystrollers... But its an interesting experience if you arnt leaving or are too drunk on Sunday...
