Doesn't really matter what you are doing with your isk short term. If you think 5M units of zydrine is some sort of stockpile, you missed the boat a LONG time ago.
I've managed to amass nearly 340M units of zydrine during the past 1.5 years at an average price of around 900 isk. Just buying and buying more. Always with more isk on my hand than I need, but I've seen eve change so many times that any type of game change always ends up with some dramatic change.
Zydrine has been far too low for too long. Everyone has known this. So you put a crapload of money into one commodity and be PATIENT. I want my 2 trillion isk. And it looks like nearly 1.5 years fo waiting are going to net me nearly 1.65 tn in profit.
But that is 1.5 years of methodical and patient work by observation and noticing patterns of gameplay.
Some people have realized that changes are coming and put a fortune into a conversion in the future. But unless you're willing to put in the time and isk to really profit from it, most people are helpless.

You nailed it good Sir. EVE is a waiting game. Not in the months but in the years.
From 2005 to 2007 I was buying Gurristas Brass tags for 5000 ISK. Then they went to 10 mill each.

I'd imagine selling off a stupendous stockpile like that takes even MORE patience just to sell it off without crashing the wave you're trying to ride when the prices rise again.

It is pretty sweet to see a long term plan of this scale come near to fruition. But I doubt you're going to see an ROI that would impress a good trader with a smaller stash (especially, if my guess about zydrine's future price turns out correct). Big traders have to have longer investment horizons than small traders and accept lower ROI. And there are a lot of high ROI opportunities for small traders that are pocket change for big ones. |

2 trillion ISK divided by 340m units of Zydrine would make for a price of 5,880 per unit. Do you really expect the price of Zydrine to reach that level? |

I saw nocxium go from 90 to nearly 550 in a few months.
That was due to the mechanics of the game being changed.
Will zydrine go that high? Well, with so much isk floating around, I'd say it's very possible to get near 5000 considering eve's past history.
We saw robotics go from 8k to nearly 75k from mechanics changes. A nearly 10 fold increase.
You can't put a cap on prices or a bottom floor. But you can't realistically bank on this now, even the buy price is now 1050, and this is from people who think a 10-20% return is actually good profit.
You need BIG isk to turn BIG profits. After this change happens, and it will take a few weeks to occur. Look at the game again and put say 1 tn isk into another commodity and wait. Turn that trillion into 5 or 10 trillion.
Plex your accounts, and just enjoy pew pew because you can afford to fly or play whatever you want. Though my game play slowed after I got Amarr Titan 5, bought one...flew it around and got bored..then sold it.
Now I just grind out around 500M/hr every morning while I get ready for the office.

Ugh. High end prices have little or nothing to do with hulkageddon. In fact, hulkageddon could drive Nocx to increase as the already inadaquate supply of highsec nocx from pyrox is strangled.
What happened this weekend was twofold. First, a massive drop in volume, and note that this manifested itself through the entire basket. Order volume itself was down, overall quantity sold was down. The second was panicky profit taking, you can see this especially on nocx and zyd on the 29th where the volumes are almost normal. People with sell orders already up on the market kept undercutting each other and some of them (or others) simply dumped and ran.
Now that Burn Jita is over officially (reimbursements are no longer being paid out for gank ships, so while some lone goons may continue to burn things it won't be anywhere near the scale of carnage), things will pick back up again. "Picking back up" is the low end here, some producers may try to make up lost volume and overbuy, giving us a volume spike over the next week to compensate for the lost weekend volume. |

1. I dont care, iv unloaded as soon as it started to move from 2000 to 1900
2. Just implement repercussions for any blueshooters in your space for the duration of hulkageddon, I.E. the Ganker has to cover the cost of replacing some ones hulk.
3. dude, all the numbers in the world wont change the minds of any seasoned investors, we all know its gonna dip for a while, its probably best to pull out now if you cant wait 3.5-6 months for prices to stabilize on all fronts, its bin talked about for months now over and over, no reason to beat that dead horse to death yet again. |
