I see a lot of folks talking about the good, the bad, and the downright ugly concerning FW, but I'm missing something...
... Other than Black Rise, where is it?
Where are the staging points in the various empires (stations closest to the conflict?) where the many members congregate?
Is it occurring in areas other than Black Rise?

As far as I can tell, Black Rise is the focus of the Caldari-Gallente fighting. The Amarr-Minmatar front is at the convergence of Heimatar, the Bleak Lands, Heimatar, and Metropolis. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.

Saw that.
I was hoping for an answer more along the lines of:
System Name.
Generally the most strategic system used by the individual militias (which if anything is to believed now number into the thousands) to access the contested regions. Unless this Black Rise region is just one tiny slice and low-sec all over the map is 'contested' making locating in a particular system pointless?

Ah, so if I wish to join the Amarr or Minmatar side I can pretty much ignore Black Rise? Good to know.

your not going to get specific systems. if you do your going to get a varied list of systems which makes it pointless. i know ive been around the same area but im not to sure how many other in the amarr militia are operating out of there exactly.

I just don't want to relocate to a new base only to find it's 20 jumps from any sort of FW area, that's why I was asking.

As far as I can tell the main staging areas (which I take to mean safe areas on the verge of low sec war zones) for the Gallente are Orvolle and Villore, whereas for the Caldari it looks like Nourvukaiken.
Black Rise is pretty accessible from high sec Gallente and high sec Caldari space, to be honest. ---------------------------

Since I'm not part of the faction warfare, can someone confirm for me if it's just in low-sec, or is high-sec killing also permitted in the Faction Warfare? ___________________________________________________

If I understand it, high sec killing is not only permitted, but trespassers are also shot at by Navy NPCs of the opposing faction - so offensive incursions are possible but with some added resistance from NPCs. I'm not in FW (yet), but as far as I can tell, this is how it works.

Thanks. On average, how much DPS do the Faction Police dish out? Can you tank them in a Frigate or need something a little more durable like a Battlecruiser or Battleship? ___________________________________________________
