No, wait. 20 times too often. We've seen these grand plans before. No dount the guy you interviewed would like nothing better than to implement all these changes, but the sad fact is that the CCP management won't allocate the resources. If we actually see ONE of the features he's talking about, I'll be surprised.
They have no credit left. No one gives a **** about what they say any more. We're only interested in what they can actually do.

Agreed.
I think people are overlooking the opening comments however.
Quote:The discussion centered around two main topics: The winter expansion and the future of EVE.
They don't do a very good job of defining which points are "Winter Expansion" material and which are just "future of EVE" material in this interview. To kill the enemy and break their toys!

I hope one of the DEVS will come up to this sandbox (the forums) and explain exactly what they mean by "resource distribution."
This does not sound good! I know we need some ship rebalancing done, but this stinks of moving sand from one area of the box to another (as stated in a previous post)!!! I thought these major updates we get were called EXPANSIONS.
EXPAND THE GAME, DON'T REDISTRIBUTE IT!
Moving stuff from Hi and WH to NULL will only frustrate another sector of your folks CCP. Please tell me I am wrong in my assumptions about "resource distribution."
Just sayin' Dex was here.
PS - If this is what we are to expect in this winter, I am afraid we might even tip that scale that Mittani and the CSM have so justly been complaining about! |

I doubt that anyone believes we'll get all of it or even most of it. The debate is about whether we'll get any of it.

Someone please remind the ******* ******** execs at CCP of this fact and perhaps they can change the balance of investment into FIS items. Presently 99% of CCP resources have been vested into Incarna crap and disappointingly this looks set to continue...

I read that and thought it's not really an expansion it's more of a patch and update. BUT much better than the last 3 "expansions" which where testing for 2 games that are not EvE and 1 expansion which should have been called sleepers in K-space.
Then it all went to **** because a CCP employee came in here to go WAIT! they're full of it. This means they plan on delivering less than MMORPG says. So if you look at my first sentence what he essentially said is it'll barely be a patch not even close to an update.

It's not my joke, I stole it shamelessly from the forums years ago...
Three women were in a bar talking about their husbands and how they made love.
The first woman said, "My husband is a marriage counselor, and before we make love, he brings me flowers and candy. I like that."
The second woman proclaimed, "My husband is a mechanic, he makes love a little rough, I like that."
The third woman replied, "Well my husband works for CCP and all he does is sit on the edge of the bed and tell me how good it's going to be when I get it."

Sure is entitlement in here. Listening to you guys talk, you'd think CCP lined up all their devs and took turns kicking your dogs.
CCP is notorious for getting really excited about things they'd like to do. I for one, don't mind a dev team that is just plain excited for their game. It's what's always set CCP apart from other games (Fallen Earth, I'm looking at you).
Further, it's important to note that CCP has been handing out free expansions since release. They're really not obligated to give you anything because they're not charging you for anything other than the base game. Literally, they're handing you free upgrades and you're getting butthurt about it. Just relax and enjoy your random free features. Even if they fail to deliver the world, you're still getting more than nothing, which is the extra content you're paying for: Nothing. |

Gold sellers use that same argument. We're not paying for server access. We're paying for game access. If you could log into the server but not fly any ships, you'd be entitled to a refund. Anyone can host a server, but NOT anyone can give us spreadsheets in space. That's what we're paying for, and to act like it's not is willfully disregarding logic for the convenience of a contrived argument. |

Wormholes are far more dangerous than those sitting behind a 20 man gate camp. Please explain to me how mining in 0.0 is dangerous when that is what you are sitting behind?
Not to mention you have belts that spawn all the time, in WH's we have to scan them down, and sometimes don't have any for days at a time. |

Expansions are not gifts dude, CCP is not working on them because they feel generous or something but because they have to, otherwise their game would die long ago. Oh, and rest assured that you payed each one of them. |

Someone is not familiar with legalspeak, I see. That clause is specifically written that way so CCP can be held accountable for long periods of server downtime, as the server is a requirement for the function of the game. Taking the servers down, under that agreement, means that CCP is directly denying a product. Written the other way, CCP could be held accountable for ore thieves and whatever else people wanted to rail about that 'interferes' with their gameplay.
Bottom line: We pay money, we get game. They're not obligated to hand out expansions any more than a car dealership is obligated to hand out new tires after you buy a car. |

Did you pay additional money on top of your subscription fee? Then it was a gift.
Every expansion for Everquest had to be purchased. Every WoW expansion has had to be purchased. Every eve expansion has added no additional cost.
That is the definition of free. Not costing money. The intentions behind the gift are irrelevant. |
