I would rather NOT have 4 separate installs of eve...waste of space.
i have a own directory for every of my clients (10 atm) which has a histroical reason.
anyway...it seems i can onl;y get 1 client to work. When i try to update the next client i can not even start the launcher.
will post screenshots of the errors when i get them

At least someone shares my problems :) Maybe we can find out what is different for us. Do you run 64Bit Ubuntu? What DirectX version are you running? VCRUN2008 installed?
This message starts the misery: err:module:find_forwarded_export function not found for forward 'msvcrt._controlfp_s' used by L"C:\\windows\\system32\\msvcr100.dll". If you are using builtin L"msvcr100.dll", try using the native one instead. |

Edit: fixed it! open the settings dialog of the launcher, and on the 'startup' tab, check 'Close Eve launcher after starting Eve'. after that i can start multiple clients again.
Fixed it for me, too!
Thanks :)

Multiclient works now: http://i.imgur.com/1V0do.png
Start the launcher, click the 'tool' looking item in the upper right corner, and check the box "Close the EVE Launcher after starting EVE Online". |

Works fine here again after installing vcrun2010 via winetricks / dlls and switching msvcr100.dll to builtin/native in winecfg. Thats on Gentoo 64bit (multilib-overlay), wine 1.4 (WINEARCH=wine32)
multiclient also works on different desktops, I switched "start launcher only when there is a new patch" to on. |

I still have 1.4-rc6 wine ... does not work for me ... Launcher crashes while downloading the patch.
IIRC if you use builtin, you don't need vcrun2010 that's only needed when you switch to native .... |

I started to get the "runtime error: R6034" message and I was able to get past it by changing the library settings in Winecfg to:
msvcr100 (builtin, native) msvcr80 (builtin, native) msvcr90 (builtin, native) msvcrt (builtin, native)
At the moment, I am running ElementaryOS Jupiter (Based on Ubuntu 10.10) and Wine 1.4 RC6.
Hope that helps. |

Well it seems we had a new update uppon the 4th update of the 3rd update and then another runtime error : R6034 this time.
I've tried to modify the way you described but it crashes the launcher... (I mean when i overrive msvcr80/90)
I can only have the launcher interface when modifying msvcr100 to : builtin, native and then , the brand new runtime error when i click "Play".
Love it.

now later in the day I goto start another client, doesn't work now
msvcr100 (builtin, native) msvcr80 (builtin, native) msvcr90 (builtin, native) msvcrt (builtin, native)
fixes it.. odd. |

You also need to export LANG and LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 if using non-english locale. Otherwise the launcher will crash with a python exception about incorrect date format. |

Here is what i have :
msvcr100 (builtin, native) msvcr80 (builtin, native) msvcr90 (builtin, native) msvcrt (builtin, native)
I've switched my OS Language from French to English (United States), closed my session, opened my session again and applied :
export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 export LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
Checked with locale that everything is good and started the game and now it runs fine but my OS is in english so... Erm, i can deal with it but that's not a really good solution.
CCP, please correct this, we all don't want to have an english OS just to run the game. |
