Edited by: Tzar''rim on 18/06/2008 08:20:38 Heya,
I would very much like to have a sent box in evemail, it makes it a lot easier to keep tabs on what you've done and still have to do and it gives mail history of sorts. Every normal mailclient has this feature and I'd like for evemail to get it as well. As it stands I always have to send myseld a CC but that's just not practical.
I'm aware that this will create another DB hog, but perhaps the sent box could be stored client side. Anyone interested in this?

Full heartedly support. Every email client I've ever used has this functionality, why not the one in Eve? And for that matter, make it possible to CC and multi-mail (like something up to maybe 3-5 people.)

If I can upload 1 gig movies to youtube I'm pretty sure the database issues involved with making EVE-mail decent can be solved. Besides a sent box also increase the character/letter limit by at least ten fold. _

That would certainly save me sending mail to myself. While on-topic, what other enhancements would you want to see in the evemail client?
I can think of: - Pick-up evemails through an API (then someone will write a gateway) - and/or Download mails OUT of the Eve-client for long-storage - Not send evemails through an API, since that would spam us all to boredom.

Personally for me (since I don't do anything that uses alot of mails) I'd be mainly interested in a sent box, possibly a higher character limit. Perhaps an easier way to select CC's as well. To me linking it to the API does nothing but create more data transfer and possible problems serverside.
Oh and gotta support myself ofcourse :)

With my poor memory a sent box would be a welcome addition.
Increasing the character limit for mails would be great too, it's way too short atm.

From my "EVE ideas" notes:
Small: - "Reply" to alliance mail should go to the poster, not to alliance - Have two buttons: "Reply to poster", "Reply to alliance"
Big: - Mail sent box - Mailboxes: Mails in mailboxes, not senders, mails moveable between mailboxes - Each mail box: Table format, sort by receive/send time, sender, subject, etc.

no this is stupid if you want pop 3 access get you own external e-mail address.
I do support a sent box a inbox with customizable folders, Alliance Mails where it groups by corp then by person. Have the ability to mass remove, mass mark as read, Search and other general mail things would be nice as well.

Sure, as long as you make it so that I can have my EveMail autoforward to my real email, and my real email mail people in game. Without truncation or loss of formatting, that is.
Either that or you could just give us a real mail client in-game and save everybody the trouble. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

Yes please. Making general improvements to the EVEmail system in general would help smaller corps to get off the ground. Making it more like a real mail client would really help corp CEOs and Directors to organize their corps. Things like a priority system (for those perma mails with links to KB and corp forums), a way to save drafts (instead of alt-tabing out to word), a more normal inbox or atleast a way to change the organization, not just by sender, but also by date and conversation. Just a few more ideas for an improved mail system.

Signed also. It's an essential for good book keeping to know when you eMailed someone and what you said exactly, especially when they whine they've either not got it, or accidentally deleted it and you need to send again. Having to do things with hotmail or saving messages to text files first is just lame.

That be nice.
An Inbox and a sent view styled as a table with sortable toon, alliance, corp, date and subject columns (No Re: or Fw: prefixes because that messes up the sort). A reply, reply to all and a forward button. Resizeable preview window.
That's enough to begin with I think. Drafts, API support and such things can come later.
The corp links mentioned, wouldn't it be better with a few more editable fields on the corp info for that?
