It now shows the state of the server before you log in:
Server: Online Active Players: 17,100
But when you get to the log in screen it says: Server not accepting connections.
What the hell is that all about. I thought the idea of the launcher was to show more information no lie to you !!!! |

Another improvement should be, that you have only to download patches once. But this is also a lie that does not work as promised. Furthermore the links on the NEWS side does not work and leads to a blank site in my browser. |

Ok, I solved this issue where the full installer was broken and did manually install it but now another issue has arise and that is, When I go to update my EVE client the update downloads and then finishes then the same update reappears as if i never downloaded it. So ultimately I'm stuck in a loop.
Any Advice or help would be nice.

Since the last patch, i've been having issues with the sound not working in the game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Audio Enabled (check)
Music 40% UI Sound/Speech 60% World Level 40% Master Level 80% Quieter Turret Sounds (check)
Those are my audio settings in game.
Occasionally some of the UI sounds will work, including the speech audio. But actual in game sounds like warp sounds, weapons fire, alarms etc wont work.
Sound worked fine prior to the last patch. All audio outside of the game works perfectly fine for me. I've even run 3 accounts on 3 screens, and occasionally only 1 or 2 will have audio work.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Edit: I think it has to do with the new launcher. Logging off while in space, then logging back on seems to fix the problem after I alter the audio settings. I just tested it on 3 clients and it seems to fix the issue. Quite annoying to have to relog to get audio to work properly. |

I assume it is still screwed up since they are so busy wrecking things like the overview. Start a corp and do it yourself. You'll fail, but you'll enjoy failing. Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round. |

Your missing the point my friend... The point being is CCP are burying their heads in the sand hoping that all the p1$$ed off players will just walk away without a fight. The reason I am still posting is firstly i want CCP to apologise and tell us all what they are going to do about those of us who have been unable to play since this "New Launcher" fiasco started. Secondly what form of re-imbursement they will give to xxxx players that have been affected. Thirdly to remove the launcher entirely and bring it out when it is "Working Properly".

I found a work-around for my problem, which is that when I run two clients my fps drops to 1 when I open the fitting window, and at other random (and dangerous) times. This is on Win7 on a 64-bit machine with a good graphics card that had no problem running 2 clients before 1.5 came out.
The work-around is to nerf the video quality by turning off HDR and setting everything else under Graphic Content Settings to medium or low.
Apparently CCP did something that is killing client performance, probably by consuming more memory but it's hard to say without running it with a tool like IBM Rational Quantify that collects detailed performance metrics of a running program.
Hey CCP! What happened to the "need for speed"? We still need it!

I couldn't find this issue in the thread, but is anyone else experiencing MAJOR client side lag and occasional crashes? Came back from a week vacation and this is nearly unplayable for me. If you don't like it, you should go and ride your Emo high-horse all the way back to WoW.

If you have a Windows PC than go to:
"C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_games_eve_tranquility" The name "c_games_eve_tranquility" will vary, depending on your installation path of EVE. You can see that I have installed EVE on my HDD under C:\games\EVE.
There you can find the "CACHE" folder, which you can delete manually. The game will set a new cache folder if you log into EVE. All other "cache-backup xx" folders are old cache folders which EVE had stored; every time you delete your cache regular in the game with the ESC-menue- and should also be deleted. Have a look at the size of these folders.
Every time you clear your cache you should also delete the backup of this old cache. I have a link of this folder in my folder where EVE is installed. So I can easy clean up my HDD. |

Thanks for the response to my petition and acknowledging this thread and the fix presented. However, the main issue that I have told you about in my petition still stands.
First off telling me that you're working with ESET to try and find a solution to your problem as opposed to telling me the standard BS reason that you told everyone else being that you were hoping for ESET to release a patch to fix the problem confirms exactly what I've been saying all along in this thread. The problem is NOT with ESET or other AV / Firewall packages but within CCP's launcher code.
Secondly, when you discovered this issue there was no rollback plan on the client and server which should have been done the minute problems started cropping up in the first place. You've completely alienated your Mac and Linux users in the midst of trying to figure out what you did to screw up a fairly decent number of your PC users atop of it all. This should have been the immediate course of action when the production release failed for such a widespread number of your users.
Third, while I appreciate the private thanks from a GM on this issue, I'd much rather see all of the community that has participated in helping to find workarounds and help you be publicly acknowledged and a formal apology to the community for not being more forthcoming as promised by your CEO just last summer.
Many of us have been very patient over the last week while you guys took off over the weekend and left us hanging and waiting for a fix. There has been no fix, no apologizes, and no acknowledgement that the launcher and it's use of the rsync protocol via http has caused issues. There has been little chatter about Mac and Linux users issues by anyone from CCP. There has been no announced intent to roll the launcher back until it's ready for consumer usage. In other words, CCP is acting like all is well on the home front while it's players are left thrashing in the wind.
This is now how you treat customers. This is not how you treat loyal users such as myself that have been playing 8 years or longer on several accounts and have put up with one debacle after another during major patch releases.
A little piece of advice. Get off your backsides and make good before you lose a lot of customers. The natives are restless and ready to revolt if you can't tell from the tone of the community. |

You could also try to understand that your computer is probably not following the evolution of the game. I'm sorry to hear you got some performance problem but if your game performance has to be better at a cost of the game evolution, I would recommand you to look for a new PC.
Still, it is a matter of opinion, because in my case, even if graphics improve from patch to patch,, client seems to run better and better. So maybe we're talking about an optimisation problem here? |

EVE is broken again :P
It throws the same errors I provided the screenshots for days ago.
I've tried a few things: 1) running patch (throws same error) 2) running repair.exe (throws same error) 3) running launcher installer (doesn't automatically run the launcher anymore after install)
Why is there not a permanent fix for the issues yet? At least some root cause shared instead of "try rebooting your PC and running repair.exe"? |

Agile does not mean Q&A is left out. In fact it depends on the concrete chosen process. Scrum for example does focus very much on Q&A, since stories which are not 100% functional and do not pass the sprint review may not be release at the end of the sprint. It's a matter of whether the rules on which the process relies are obeyed by everybody on the company. But this is a problem which is not agile related. Q&A may be a problem of CCP, but it is not agile related... |
