Hi, we've a released a fix for this in EVE Launcher version 1.05. Would you mind restarting the Launcher and letting it self-update? This ought to sort things out for you, but I'll watch this thread regardless . |

Hi, please try running the Repair Tool with the following arguments: --buildno=344784
This should repair your client to the previous TQ build. After that, you should be able to re-install the Launcher as normal. |

I taught this was quick and easy? feels more like slow and painfull at current state
This is likely due to the fact that on the first run of the Launcher, we checksum your client directory in order to determine what needs to be patched. The good news is that this information is cached, so you subsequent patches should be much quicker. Sorry for any inconvenience. |

Confusingly, we have several methods of performing updates. The first version of the Launcher is designed to replace the old patching system used for delivering major releases.
The "Client Update" system you mention is used for delivering code-only changes. We agree that it's silly for you to have to restart your client after having just patched! This is one of the first things that we'll be tackling in subsequent versions of the Launcher.
The general idea is to streamline the entire process until you live in a bright, restart-less future, something we'll achieve incrementally . |

*Cross-posting from the Crucible 1.5 Issues Thread*
Just to update everyone on the situation:
We're aware of the permissions issues plaguing some of our users. We're actively working on a fix for this.
In the mean-time, please do the following: 1. Restart your computer 2. Run the Repair Tool without starting any other EVE-related process (ie Client, Launcher, etc) beforehand. 3. Navigate to EVE/bin/ and run ExeFile.exe directly. 4. Please reply to this thread confirming this work around, if it is, in fact, successful.
A few caveats about this approach. If you encounter permission errors on files during the Repair process, they may not have been completely updated to their latest versions. Therefore, you may not be running a completely sane client, but you might be able to get in-game.
Thank you for bearing with us while we sort these issues out. |
