Whatever, do you suffer this problem? You should know this makes the game unplayable a lot of times. So yes, it's a priority for me and others who are suffering the same problem. At least some official answer on what is this about or if they can do something would be nice.
Cheers.
P.S: reallity check: when you pay for a service you think it will be delivered the best posssible, I'm just doing my part as a customer: being annoying, licking asses is not gonna help neither me or them. that's what happens in any bussiness, not difference here, if other gamers want to be fanbois no matter what allright.
First; I'm not a fanboy (or girl) to any extent - if I had the problems mentioned I'd join the choir instantly.
But as it seem, CCP seldom responds in this kind of threads unless they have a solution or another way of solving the matters at hand. Just crying out "fix it" now and then doesn't suggest to me as constructive or anyway helping to those who really are having these issues.
I've tried to contribute in threads as much as I can, but as far as I know, not all ideas or suggestions from me and others have been tested or tried to eliminate hardware or driver issues on players computers or other things that may interfere or affect installed games, like EVE (at least not with responses here in the Windows channel).
Some kind of reaction from CCP would be most appricieated -a sign that they are investigating is at least a sign of life.

The way they ignore it just points to that they are doing zero to remove this at this point of time. Crap support ftl. ----------------------------------------- [Video] I'm a soldier, so remember the name |

The problem ATI drivers this time round are not very good. (Nice way of saying it) Try an earlier driver if you can get them.
CCP are more than likely tring to recreate the bug and need as much more info. (If you can do them videos of the problem, with the normal bug report they can start fixing it. A video says more than pitures and words).
The problem is if only one person reports the problem you have one angle of a problem. More data helps them find the problem. Please note bug reports with just fix ATI cards are deleted as they have nothing useful. Do not expect them to have an ATI 3870 card and every other card ever made in a machine.

I've had a graphics driver crash that sounds similiar to this as well, I'm running Vista 32bit and have a HD 3850 512GB GDDR3 PCIE 2.0 and I run EVE in a 1600x1200 window on a 2048x1536 desktop. Occasionally my screen goes black and the mouse will freeze up for a second then the screen returns to normal and windows will tell me "Atikmdag has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" and that's all fine and whatever somewhat annoying but I can live with that, what bugs me is on rarer ocassions that will happen but after it's "recovered" it will happen again and a again until windows goes into a blue screen to "prevent further damages to my computer". I've never found out the circumstances for that my graphics card being overclocked isn't the issue because I underclocked it and it still happened and the graphics, I have tried catalyst drivers 8.5 & 8.6 neither help and it seems completely random I've had happen loading grids on warp in and I think in missions. -------- Yes, I know I'm an alt, what are you going to do about it? |

Yeah people are trying to blame the ati drivers but are oblivious of the fact that the problem still exists no matter what driver. This strongly points to a CCP FUC UP. It needs to get fixed. ----------------------------------------- [Video] I'm a soldier, so remember the name |

Yes, unless a representative from CCP states othervise, it seems like a driver issue.

It seems like it because ccp hasnt been arsed to do anything about it because they suck. Do you expect them to post in here and say "well we know there is an issue and its our fault but we cant solve it, tough luck but we still are going to charge you money for playing a game that doesnt work 100%". They have NOTHING to gain by doing that. They are buying time by shoving the blame on ATI drivers and by posting as desguised fan bois in these threads. ----------------------------------------- [Video] I'm a soldier, so remember the name |

Buying time? That's one way putting it. What if the next release of Radeon drivers solve the issue? A Dev or someone from Bug team, whoever, the smallest response - will it stop you from posting more? Don't think so...

Good luck Lyria with that negative attitude. I feel that CCP are doing their best. The reason I posted was to give the same information I always give to people who want something fixed. Finding out what is wrong is not easy to do and changing some code can create new bugs. CCP more than likely have a bug list. The more bug reports it has it becomes more pressing.
If it was an easy fix donĘt you think CCP would have done it or do you think CCP are holding it back for a few at you. If you think its CCP holding back then you need to let the ego steam off abit.
I do not work for CCP or any other company that has anything to do with them. However I do work for a company who makes software and know itĘs not like switching a switch.

Crying like a baby is not going to fix anything faster. Reporting bugs helps people find the problem after the code error is found they can start fixing it. Also don't have a go at people who try to help you be it right or wrong. A stab is better than nothing.
Also 100% working games don't exist sorry its never going to happen. Just look at Windows just a few billion bugs and then the game bugs on top. So for CCP to bring out a 100% working game CCP just have to buy Microsoft and fix the bugs a quick and easy task I think not.
I think I maybe posting to a BDU.
You feel that ccp are doing their best?
I have petitioned it. I have told them EXACTLY what causes it. EXACTLY how I can reproduce the bug/freeze. I have also let their debug program run in the background to collect the debug info when the crash occurs. I have SENT them this info.
What does the GM say? Bug report it with all this info.
My question is: "Why the fuc did I give YOU all the info if youre gonna treat me as a parrot to repeat the same damn thing to another info box?"
No that is not good support. It aint. You can "feel" whatever you like. You are not the one paying 100% monthly fee and not getting a 100% game in return. mkay? ----------------------------------------- [Video] I'm a soldier, so remember the name |

I'm having this problem too (HD3870), and only with eve. Crysis, COD4, BF2, etc all run perfectly fine. When I run eve though, it crashes my computer. If I'm lucky the VPU recover works and it just freezes my PC for about 30-60sec. Also, sometimes I can play eve for hours without it freezing, then other times it freezes withing a couple minutes.
I've tried 3 different driver versions and none of them fixed it. This is a very recent problem too, it's only been happening the past few weeks. It's definately not my memory as I ran memtest x86 and it returned no errors.

That way we could determine if it's a CCP issue, or a driver issue. If it is a driver issue CCP might choose to change some code to mitigate it given that the number of 38XX and 48XX users should be on the increase given the price point the cards are at for the performance they offer.
and Leelo Atriedes, you are a troll. If you don't offer anything new (as I've done here, and you did early on) just leave the thread alone. Posting "broken record" just makes the thread longer.

Spare me the insults, please.
The trolling some ppl seem to see here are only my reactions to Skydancer's constant bumping (which in turn is doesn't do anything at all to the problem on hand).
If I recall correctly, only a few (if any) have filed proper Bug Reports, correct me if I'm wrong.
I will try to contribute with more help or ways to find help whenever possible.
Those with this problem, maybe you'll should look in the "sound crackling"-thread and start from the real basics and checking BIOS and settings there. It did help out there. And perhaps from suggestions by me...

Wait so, petitioning bugs is not a bugreport? Why is there such option in the petitionsystem if so?
Also where is the magical sound crackling thread that will solve our problems? Link?
And yeah me bumping these threads might actually some day (when the threads are 50 pages long) make ccp consider giving one single simple answer like "we are looking into it or it is ati's fault or it is our fault, we will fix it next patch". Yup thats what I want.

You dear Skydancer, kept rambling about that you wouldn't/shouldn't bug report it as you could give all info to a GM, he/she had already the info from you.
On this same page, X-Fi is full of crackling thread (I'm not saying that anything there would do any good for you, but it's another method of searching for faulty settings in hardware or BIOS. OP kept flaming Microsoft and the problem was a hardware/BIOS issue. I haven't seen anything yet that rule out that to be the source here also.)
CCP may give a response here, but look att the top most sticky again - it (this channel) isn't normally as a CCP information way.

im getting the same error with a 2600HD card.... also got the same error set with a radion card of aproximite power... i dont remeber what it was cause i rma'd it to get this card....
the unload is differnt though , but it could just be me i spent over a month trying to fix this with patchs and updates and fiddling with settings ... im tempted to go back to my on board video again just to play with out it freaking out.
i have gotten this error also with WoW, and it is mainly when full screen mode is activated and the screens refresh to the new res... i have also reproduced it repeately with the ati control software changing resolutions.... i figured that the Nvida drivers from my last card never fully unloaded or something so i put a fresh install on windows and reinstalled the new card from scratch (latest drivers and programs)on a fresh card. installing in admin mode etc.... and still problems
i dig eve and i wanna play with primium graphics plz some one figure this out.
