Maxmimum volume is not the only volume!
0.00 volume/distance falloff is not a good setting!
An invulnerability field active 400km from my camera shouldn't make my subwoofer shudder! |

i can confirm this, no matter what your zoom factor is, far out or right on top they always are audible with full volume.
It's not limited to invul fields; Amor hardeners, sensor boosters and remote effects display the same behavior as well.
The mining lasers on the other hand are really quite silent now, please do NOT change that tho since extended exposure to those sounds make miners dizzy. |

I confirm this too, just came to post about it.
It's very anoying to have those audio effects playing all the time. The zoomed out low volume was good, i hope it gets fixed soon. |

Not just the invulnerability field but I can also hear cans being jetted and probes being launched from 400km away. The audio from those sound effects seems all scrabled up to. When I point to the moon don't stare a my finger! |

They haven't got a clue how to work with their sound functionality. It's had niggling issues for years, and every time they make the slightest change to it, they cause a sudden sharp increase in the number of jarring audio bugs that they have no idea how to fix (so, they never fix them)
I'm starting to suspect the problem is that they literally just do not have an employee who knows how to debug the game's sound. |

The Megapulse laser effect is broken for a really really long time already in exactly the same manner; But yesterdays patch applied this to literally every module that has some ring to it.
Maybe, just maybe all is fixed in one go now. |

There are alot of sound effects not fading currently. For me this includes:
- Missile Launchers firing (my own) - Missile explosions (when they hit me) - Invu Fields - Hardeners - Ship explosions (enemies in missions) - etc.
It's very annoying, please restore the volume falloff behaviour from before the patch. |

I was going to mention the pulse laser thing myself. It's been like that for like a year. I always had to mute sound near amarr battleships using them. Maybe breaking everything evenly might actually spur them to try and address the root cause.
Unfortunately the patch will probably just cause your audio drivers to crash or turn engine noise into 180 decibel white noise.

Can jetting sounds for no apparent reason. Invuln sounds being heard from any distance and even when the invuln is off. Sebo sounds even when there are no sebos on grid. |

Confirm as well, many different sounds louder than they should and bulllet ricochet sounds when being shot are quiet to the point they are basically inaudible. |

Firing Sound from Projectile Turrets seems to have the hiccups. Everything is too loud. you dont hear what your ship is doing etc.
Best option now is turning sound off. and thats not an option... fix the sound! |

its NOT fixed... invufields are louder than the t2 turrets from the machariel. i hear the lazerguns from the nightmares who are 10 km away. but NOT MY OWN projectile guns... why is that?
my own guns sound like heard through a thick wall of cotton...or better example. like shots fired into water and heard from under water... that sucks!!
everything is not dimmed in loudness when scrolled out like before... why are you doing this? fix the sound asap. |

I'm experiencing the sound issues as well. The reduced volume of the mining lasers has affected me because I run two accounts and hearing the lasers is how I know to jump to the other account when I'm mining. It's not a big deal, but it was nice before.
I'm also experiencing the weird volumes. I'm sometimes even hearing sounds for events that aren't even occurring. For example, when mining the other day, I would occasionally hear the jump gate sound even though both of my toons where in a stationary position mining in an asteroid field and had been for several minutes. After reading this thread, I thought it might be possible I was hearing the sounds of the jump gate from way far away. Somebody had their drones deployed outside Dodixie and every time I got near the station, the drone sounds would get so loud I'd have to turn my speakers way down. It actually scared me when it happened the first time because I had absolutely idea what was going on.
Either way, this all started directly after downloading the patch that had the launcher in it earlier this week.
EDIT: I can confirm that this issue was not fixed in the patch as I experienced it last night(after downloading the new patch around 00:00 Eve time) and today. |

Yes, I can confirm too, that sound is still not as it was before 1.5 patch. I have made a topic about it, but to make it more simple, I will post my problems here as well.
Salvager and other modules sounds are too low / canceled if more than one modul is active at timeSalvager module and Tractor Beam modules are too low when activeCracking sound from wrecks when Tractor Beam is active on them is goneMining lasers are too low when activeNoctis has no engine sound and "humming docking" sound when entering hangarShips engine sounds in general are very low"The hummering sound" before you reach the warp maximum speed is almost goneSometimes ship explosion sound is missing, even if camera is close to the event |

Confirming that the issue is not fixed at all. Among other things, missle launcher effects are broken and being in a drake fleet is ridiciously annoying.
Please fix this ASAP. |

I'm forwarding this to our audio man, he said he had fixed this issue. Have you tried running the repair tool? Maybe The soundbanks got corrupted during the update, which could lead to these problems.
About hearing things that are not near your ship: The audio listener is attached to the camera. As such, when you zoom out as much as possible you won't hear what is happening near your ship but rather what is happening near the camera, e.g. when there is a jumpgate close to the camera then you hear a jumpgate sound. |

The invuls and sensor boosters no longer stay excessively loud, but missile launchers are still bugged. Clicking the quiet turret option has no effect.
Gun turrets are fine, it's just the missile launchers now. |

I think there is a misunderstanding The problem with sound-distance is fixed, so audioman was reffering to this problem that he fixed? I mean, there are some problems with module sounds and engine of ships (more in my previous post), but that is completely unrelated with sound-distance issue which is fixed. The name of thread is very misleading now.
I could run repair tool of course, but I'm scared & thought this problemo could be fixed via some patchy patch |

two questions: 1. the audiopoint was fixed at the camera before the launcher patch? 2. why is the sound changed in the way you hear it. before the launcher: sound was clear. if you zoomed out. sound faded out. after the launcher patch: sound is washy, heared through a thick wall of cotton if you zoom out... <-- HATE THIS LIKE HELL...
and one thing. if i zoom out about 100m. i can HEAR my invufields. but NOT my 800mm repeating artillery II... thats ridiculus.
really. why did you changed the sound? that wasnt necessary... i want the sound back the way it was. or at least a button, so i can change the behavior of the sound beeing played.
i have to turn off the sound as long as my invufields killing my subwoofer regardless how far i zoomed out.
again. FIX THIS... |
