Hi,
Still possible to make a chat filter by skill point and word? Am bored by the isk seller spam in the different chat like trade or language. For exemple set skill point filter to 950K player under that cannot be read, or chat filter by word set vcyyoo to hide anyone write this.
Fly safe, peace.

Mmm... integrated snooty filters.
"I don't speak to ~anyone~ with less than 10 million Skill Points... meh" *sips wine*
Seriously, just Block them like everyone else. Or better yet, get out of the useless Rookie Chat, since ISK Spammers don't use any other channel.

I was suddenly seized by an image of 0.0 alliance leaders as these people in smoking jackets sipping cognac, discussing the fate of the universe over a cigar - and then I remembered some are kids and it's all done over MSN and the imagery vanished. Bring on ambulation! Gentlemen, no fighting in the War Room!
Edit: Sorry for the derail, I couldn't help myself. ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation or alliance, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties... |

They do use other channels as well (besides rookie and local). Blocking them is like using antivirus software. You are always one step behind.
- don't allow trial accounts to post hyperlinks to targets outside of the game
- make posting messages in channels other than the official "help" (plus intl. versions), local, corp and rookie channels cost ISK for trial accounts. Make cost timer based:
1st message within 10 minutes: 25.000 ISK 2nd message within 10 minutes: 500.000 ISK 3rd message within 10 minutes: 1.000.000 ISK 4th message within 10 minutes: 20.000.000 ISK
A trial can safely ask for "how does that perpetual motion unit stuff work?" for 25k ISK. By saying "thank you" for 500k ISK he can show that he has been realy worth the answer. But he will never come up with that third "and to all those who said RTFM:...<insert your favorite inappropriate language here>" message, because he will be warned that this flame would cost him 1.000.000 ISK...well...another story that is.
Thinking twice I see, a fee would not work which leads me to the brilliant idea of...*tataaaaaa*
- making the channels other than "local", "help" (plus intl. versions), "corp" and "rookie" read-only for trials.
Whatever...technical filters of any kind always fail. The only filter that will ever work is the human brain v1.0 (i.e. "don't buy, market gone, spammers gone"). Lets face it, brain v0.5 is to common these days...
Making it impossible to advertise anything ingame for anonymous (i.e. trial accounts) will at least stop spamming in ingame channels. The problem itself will remain unchanged unless brain v1.0 has been implemented in those v0.5 heads.

Guys, there is a specific petition for spammers, they usually get removed within 5 minutes of petition. No need to make the rookies pay for asking questions or something ridiculous (You only start with 5k isk, iirc)
PS the OP should have the nickname "Feel" so he can sign his posts Mr "Feel" Goods

Agreed - plus the level of spam has already dropped off dramatically from where it was. Whatever filtering CCP put in seems so far to have done quite well. ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation or alliance, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties... |
