Perhaps there were documented changes that I just missed in the patch notes, but has anyone else noticed that Unknown complexes, particularly the lower-level ones, no longer spawn faction rats nearly so frequently as they did pre Empyrean Age? I've done about eight Gurista Base plexes and four Gurista Fortresses since EA hit, and NOT A ONE has spawned a dread rat. One escalation from the lot. Previously I'd have gotten dread rats out of half, at least.
Anyone else seeing this, or no?

I've noticed that of the 9 Radar sites I've found in 0.0, all 9 were the same. In different constellations, in different systems, all the same plex. Loot hasn't been that great either, just Power Couplings and Spare Parts, of which now I've got over 500 of each. Um..what happened?

Good question! Is ANYONE else having problems? Any input is welcomed.

A stealth nerf wouldn't surprise me given CCP's obsession with nerfing anything that's fun and profitable at the same time. |

10+ unknown sansha plexes scanned & completed since last patch in Stain, got 1 true sansha spawn out of them and zero escalation. It was a waste of time so far.

My rate of escalations has been about the same (maybe a bit higher but the statistics are very much in the noise). I have had a couple really nice faction drops since the patch too from unknowns, so I have a feeling you are on a string of bad luck. -------------------

Nice name. Anyway, while faction spawn rates in the higher-end unknowns in 0.0 seem to be ~mostly~ consistent for me, if slightly less, it's the alarmingly low rate in the 'base' and 'fortress' unknown plexes that has me wondering. It could just be a lot of horrible luck, but the more explorers I talk to in Venal, the more I start to doubt that.

I run radars and unknowns in Gallante lo-sec. I've noticed a downturn in the number of sites and have had zero faction spawns since the patch. I run 1-3 sites a day and it is my primary mode of game play. Probability is a factor but I wouldn't be surprised if there's an adjustment that's been made by CCP. |

I wish they would document these things. While you can't list every single change made perhaps, it shows a lack of respect toward your player base when you neither document nor acknowledge nerfs to important areas of gameplay.

I finished around 20-25 Explorations during the weekend. Mostly all explorations look like the same plex just the number of ships were different. I had 1 faction spawn and no escalation from all the explos. Seems like there is something changed...

I did about 12 unknowns in last weekend but I did not get single faction ship or escalation. I may just have bad luck, but I used to find something interesting at least in 50% of those sites.

I have heard many different people in the exploration channel comment that escalations and faction ships seem to have been significantly reduced. |

That's odd. Mind you I'd be overjoyed to hear the change was unintentional. |

In the absence of any data to the contrary it sounds like the usual post-patch stats concerns that we get with Invention and so on - a few people get a run of bad luck and decide it must be the patch to blame; in your case it sounds like you were unusually lucky before the patch and slightly unlucky after. The last change to the Guristas Base in particular was allowing Combat Recons to enter it in Trinity 1.2, FWIW.

Spending the three weeks or so since the patch went live exploring and having one faction module to show for it? I think this is more than 'slight' bad luck. I feel like I'm playing out the opening scene of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. I'll continue to beat my head against the wall, though, and see if this 'bad luck' continues. Until then, it will be interesting to see how many other people are having the exact same 'bad luck' in the same time frame (i.e., ever since EA went live)

I have dropped 150-200 multispec probes since the patch and have found 2 sites in 0.0. Before the patch, I was finding a site every 10th probe drop or so on average. Yes there were days that didn't find anything but the most I have ever gone was 2 days. Now we are going on 2 weeks or so.
I really think something has changed. |

In a nearly completely chance based profession, you get unlucky and lucky streaks. You are unlucky right now. Its not a stealth nerf, its not the end of the universe, it isn't CCP abusing you or undocumented game changes.

Making that argument is a two-way street, really. Who's to say I'm not right, and your own luck simply makes you think everything is fine? |

I have noticed that the Overseer in the few complex I have found (only dabbling) haven't dropped the overseer belongings or faction loot. It is possible that correcting the drop rates for missions like Worlds collide where they can be found has borken then for exploration? |

statistics is a b****. I got no DG spawns in 3 weeks of ratting and then 4 in 3 days. No i didn't chain. I remember a story about a maths teacher that asked the pupils to make an experiment with tossing coin 100 times and writing down the numbers. Most people were too lazy to do it and gave fake results, just keeping the head - tail ratio at 50-50. The teacher spotted this, because out of 100 coin tosses you're almost certain to get 6-7 of the same kind in a row at least once. But it looks 'not random' for people, so they didn't put chains of more than 3 in their fake results. Same with you guys probably.. sometimes you're unlucky. There are dozens explorers out there, some of them are bound to experience 'bad luck'. |

and I should completely ignore the only known concrete addition (the patch) to the chance-based equation that turned my 2+ month "lucky" streak into an "unlucky" streak?

So what would things look like in order for you to say it was a stealth nerf and not simply him being unlucky?
Afterall, in a chance based profession, some people who were unlucky before would get lucky now and they wouldn't notice any change.

I too run about same amount of sites a day more on weekends both low and hi sec. I have never had escalation or seen faction spawn in unknown. I started exploring about 5 weeks ago. I must be unlucky

He also happens to be correct. These claims are worthless.
These threads are the same as all these "invention stealth nerf" threads. There's at least two new invention threads created every day claiming that invention has been nerfed. If you were to believe even the majority of these threads were true, invention would be so nerfed right now that no jobs would succeed.
