This is the way i started to know titans, from the information released about them. According to the information about them, titans were the giants of space, only the richest & largest empires would be able to field one.
Titans were infact so enormous that they had been knows to change the gravity of smaller moons with their presence alone.
So how come that a ship so large it can influence the gravity of a moon, a ship so gigantic it takes an empire to build, can be bumped by a frigate ?. Why is it that a titan which is the moving fortress of an alliance, cant be used as a moving station and hold ships replacements. When i was reading about titans, i pictured a ship so huge it would take up my entire screen when flying close to it. I had the picture in my mind about a ship that would be able to carry enough ships inside it to support an invading or defending alliance.
I had a vision
There is no price on true lojalty

Edited by: Rhanna Khurin on 28/06/2008 12:14:00 I've always had doubts about the "can influence the gravity of planets it orbits"
No it doesnt, it can't possibly, it's mass is pitiful and it only 17km long.

Your vision was shared by many.
Sadly CCP’s vision was a giant smartbombing command ship with a jump portal. I eagerly await the rebalance... reworking err... redesign of supercaps and sovereignty, roll on 2011

Nerfed for balance issues.
THere is one titan wreck from a player that remains around even today, as a graveyard for itself.
Monetarily? anyone can start making billions of isk these days, since roids regenerate thats a never ending fountain of isk.
Normally that would lead to mass inflation (See Thang Online and its history of going from around 1 mil for an ebony armor set to 50 mil.. which is a damn lot).
Inflation doesnt happen because of base prices in the market system for minerals keeping everything low price. Thus the pocket money of people keeps growing (their buying power), while the price caps of minerals keep titans and all other ships the same price as they were when the game started. |

I can't find the specific chronicle/article/story where the environmental disaster relating to a titan was mentioned, but I believe it was the result of the ship jumping into orbit, not the mass of the ship itself. |

We need tier-2 titans that are 10x as large and can blow up stations by sieging them for 30 mins or so. ;-)
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

Imagine one of those "titans" entering siege and powering up their DDD for 30 minutes, then popping a POS *drool*.

it's 1/10th the size of a station... it bugs me...
should the station then not be ripping the planet apart?

Titans are scrap, rushed out, so much possibilty but like a wet fart they had very little follow through, what a awesome idea would it be to have titans deploy into large pos's with forcefield and a whole other host of bonus's like guns witch the pilot as the gunner with docking and other mods, allowing you to park the damn thing and being able to leave when you please, with a cyno gen on top that you can jump to or from, how awesome would be the logistics of titans then rather than some 50 billion command ship, that gets bumped everywere and is just a alliance's e-peen, and will come to ruin eve in a few years time...

I had imagined titans as moving stations aswell, no DD.
I had also imagined manufactoring lines and such for an extended remote deployment.
I dont really like their combat parts...

The devs said something about game mechanic limitations, so don't hold your breath until a major overhaul patch. |

When I first heard of the titan ships I imagined huge hulking ships that can store vast number of ships and basically be a mobile fortress, one that you could actually dock ships into and store modules and items inside a private hanger, one that would always remain in space when the pilot logs off it goes to a safespot and becomes in essence a giant pos with the same mechanics as one, shield bubble that goes into reinforced (though this will force it from being able to exit its pos mode) gunner skilled pilots operating the main guns if attacked and maybe even the drone bays and such. The owner being able to designate several pilots who are able to pilot the ship in his absence (it not the last ship you will ever fly then till it dies though it is still risky sharing it for obvious reasons)
But none of this was reality maybe one day they will be like this or even the t2 version will be like this
I also imagined the motherships being similar to this but obviously on a smaller scale but once again I was wrong.

Being that Band of Brothers has the most experience fielding titans in battle, simultanously, which one of these options would you like more. I feel your the most qualified to choose.
1. Current Titans
2. A titan with slightly increased stats (larger, more mass, more hp) that effectively is a mobile station (stores many ships up to battleships, capable of storing a decent sized fleet) and can be fitted with modules both to allow it to operate similar to a station (repair bay, reprocessing, insurance) or as a Capital killer (could be fitted with a special siege module, along with its current number of weapons hardpoints) BUT no doomsday. (I dont have an issue with doomsdays I think they are fine, but gotta take something away in return for the uber mobile station or capital killer fitting options)
I always saw the titan as being the end game for capitals, and as being a capital killer, or huge floating logistical base that could hold entire fleets of ships, and be a mobile station of sorts. Instead you will never see guns fitted because it cant do any damage with them worth speaking of. I still pray for a Titan siege module. |

Then CCP should be working on a gameplay overhaul required to turn Titans into moving bases rather than allow us to get out of our ships and dance. |

I want that. I hope CCP make a new tier of Titan like that, but I doubt it. |
