there is no piracy hierarchy (except that TBR and Veto are on top of the foodchain )
and there is no morale in a Pirate's business,
the only thing that true pirates have is their own codex, on how they represent themselves.
in my alliance, we honour our ransoms and our word is our law, if someone under me would to dishonour this word and I would find out about it, this woudl have severe concequences within my ranks and also I woudl also go as far to consider reimbursing part of the loss that person had.
this is why some Pirate organisations stand off form others, and end up becoming alliances with a reputation as been good at what they do and why the 'lesser' pirate corps never really grow.
also, if I have a CNR in front of me with 2 bil isk worth of equipment fitted, bealieve me, I will not be asking for a mere 300 mil isk. Ransoming is an art to make a living from it, ad a very lucrative business and it's what a lot of corps live from, because it is less hassle for them then to loot a wreck, and bring it somewhere and sell it off. It's just too much time than just hnouring it, and maybe even ransoming the same person again the same day or the next, cause you then already know what fittings he flies with. Each time the Ransom goes up of course.
The Gurlstas associates frown on hisec 'piracy' as there is no talent required to do it properly, just stupidity from the other new, inexperienced pilot who might have never been in PvP engagements and decides to fire on you.
but hey, opinions are like a***holes, everybody has one

Whatever it is that youre trying to say, its not making any sense. An opinion rarely has a function nor can it "work".

You're making the assumption that we aspire to be part of an alliance or something larger than we already are. Having a large group of blues and lots of rules and ethics goes against the grain of my being a pirate.

Really, this thread is about us, not you. Part of me would love to enlighten you on the finer points of hi-sec piracy, but a larger part of me can't be bothered and I'm sure you'd rather not read it. I'll just say that it has been, is, and will continue to be quite profitable. Hi-sec and low-sec piracy have very different dynamics, and your "best practices" have very little to do with ours.

I'll have to agree with that, most of us that disagree with ransoms being dishonoured live in lowsec where it's slightly more important to honour them IMO, we make our living like that and the missioners down here don't run with pimped out ships so blowing them up is counter productive.
Looking at your killboard shows you guys are good at what you do, unfortunately it does make it harder for us in lowsec to ransom even if we are worlds apart.

Any of the nubbins in the past couple "pirate" fail threads want to call them out on that? How about some snide "internet-honour" comments for them?
I won't. They're smart and know what they're about. Observe and learn.
You are missing a fundamental tidbit of knowledge, here. We don't *care* if VETO honors ransoms.

Disappointing to see the number of recent threads describing what some of these new "pirate" corps are about and how silly they sound when they try to rationalize it. I'd just repeat what some others have said: There are more than a few pirate corps that know what they are about and don't apply sophistry to the ransoming process.
Just because you label it sophistry, doesn't make it so. We're well paid and enjoying our time here in EvE.
Originally by: Ard UnjiiGo
Not going to get too worked up about the "pirate" nubbins though. Corps like these won't typically last and quality pirate corps are noting who they are and won't likely have anything to do with their members when their corps crumble.
Your last sentence ran-on and confused me as I lost track of who the subject of it was. I'll assume you're calling us a "pirate nubbins" corp that will crumble over time. If so, I'm calling you out on relevance. Who cares if NightCrew may not be here next year? Doesn't change the fact that you sillies have been trolled for 3 pages.

This man gets it! Thanks dude, I was starting to think all of EvE was going bat-sh!t insane!
I really think any repercussions you guys may feel from us in low-sec are fractional to none, though. I really don't think a mission-runner who has lvl4 q18 agents in hi-sec would ever have any reason to go do the same thing in low-sec.
I spent a lot of time in no/low-sec doing the alliance and piratey thing. I've done what you guys are doing. The rules and politics bored me to tears.

It's not that we're trying to say, "we have e-honour and ride around on white horses and would like your ISK so you may release you because we are honourable goodsir." We certainly realize we are two-bit pirate scum, hated by the carebear masses who spit on our graves IRL (for the lulz).
It's more that I want the bears I have scrammed and on fire to understand that I want their ISK and there are two ways for me to get it; either paying me ransom or scooping their loot. I also want them to understand that I'm perfectly fine with both methods. Like Kane said, we don't catch many Gist X-Type fitted CNRs in low sec (and when we do, the mods don't drop ) so it's better for us to take the ransom money rather than the shite loot. If the bear doesn't think I'm going to let him go, he's got no reason to pay me which means I get less ISK.
I hesitate to call it honour and even trust is stretching it as it's hard to trust someone with the proverbial gun to your head, but I want the bear to know that he'll be let go for paying me. I get where you're coming from and agree that the bears who fly officer fit CNRs in Mostu don't come round my parts very often, but they make posts on the forums and tell their carebear friends who do. That having been said, we're not taking you to pirate court and hope you enjoy your internet spaceships. ______

If I had a nickle for every time someone told me to go to lo/no-sec, I'd have like... a whole lot of nickles.
You really need to cognitively think, here. We're not the same breed of pirate. It's been stated before your post and after it. I'm sorry you lack the reading comprehension to see that your rules are not applicable to me.

Shitty corporations like that destroy for those that do it the good old way in low sec..
BYDI always honor ransoms.I have seen 2 times that the victim got blown up after ransom due to Npc aggro and people changing their mind when they see structure get hurt..Both times we paid back the isk and gave back loot and even got a few members that way..
So come and visit Bydi instead..We always honor ransoms..We live from it..

who the hell says pirating has to be a lucritive business?! why does it have to be a business at all? id do this even if i got no loot. its not about the money to me, its the pop of a nub who was ******ed enough to bring it upon themselves. in high-sec you arent going to die in a BS unless you deserve it. just get off your high horses. a pirate follows no rules and call me nuts but unless you watched PoTC3 too much, they really were not united.

You sir are an idiot. Pirates followed a code and were highly democratic in their ideals and operations. Even 99% of the ship captains were elected by the crew.
Now, back to eve, do as you please, you pay to play the game, though the more notoriety that you receive in doing things of this nature quite honestly will just make more people know what you're planning and limit more money that you can get out of them if you had just honored the ransom. Though, anyone dumb enough to shoot someone for taking a crappy mod from one of their wrecks is an idiot anyways, especially if they are in a faction fitted battleship.
Unless you're finding faction fitted noobs that don't pay attention to the forums or anyone else in game(local), at least in the area you operate, you're going to lose the whole ransom and pop avenue altogether, it might not be today but if there is anyone that chats entirely too much about random things like this for no reason at all, it's carebears after their carebear tears.
Anyways, play your game how you want and everything I said is probably going to fall on deaf ears anyways.
PS - I think one of them showed up in my mission once, started looting my wrecks in a frig so I just warped out and he went pop to my rats. Might have been another mission baiter but I think it was one of them. So, they can't do anything if you don't shoot them carebears.

no. i dont think anyone's accusing you of wanting to blow up government buildings. but given internet anonymity and should you have the chance, as you have here, you'd act like a total jerk and ass about a game you clearly care nothing about.

ZOMG pirate discussion!
Piracy isn't business, it's fun. And not honouring ransoms is funny, because it generates tears. And Night Crew is all about having fun and making *****es cry. Laughing loudly on Vent is much more rewarding than being a "nice pirate" (???), which gives no immediate added value. As for long-term benefits, "repeat business"?
"Yeah, they let me go and gave me back the amount I overpaid. They were so nice! The service was so good I'm going back to be ransomed again tomorrow."

but you just dont get it do you? they WONT get caught again tomorow regardless because its high sec. you cant just understand that can you? in low sec you CAN get repeate customers, not in high sec. they ahve to do something wrong again. sometimes we have gotten someone twice, but thats only the most incredibly stupid. it really does not matter if we ranson or if we dont. if we honor it or not almost all of them will not make that mistake again except for the most stone cold of idiots. so why not get all the money we can out of them? oh right, because its the right thing to do. sorry about that. tard.
