I'd recommend not mining to a jet can. |

1. Haul your ore to a station when you're full. (pain in the butt) 2. Get a friend or alt to haul your ore to a station. (requires a friend or alt) 3. Dump your ore to secure containers and empty them later. (some assembly required) 4. If you insist on jet-canning, find a quiet system to do it in. (risk reduced but not eliminated) 5. Get a friend in your corp to hang out with you in a cloaky ship, and ravage the anus of anyone who flips you. (fun times!) 6. Get a friend to suicide gank anyone who comes within 5km of your can (hilarity ensues) |

You would have been better off posting this in the "new citizens Q&A" , you are unlikely to get much sympathy here.
Check out "secure containers" and the relevant skills to use them.. I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it. |

First off, thanks for taking your time to share your troubles with us-we are here to help you out. What systems do you usually mine in? If you can share this knowledge with us, perhaps we will send out a team to 'assist' you. We could make you a can to use and if they steal it, your trusted associates from C&P will blow them up.
Second, why arent you doing missions etc? They pay more, and may possibly be actually fun.In some of the missions-they give you quality ore to mine in the mission itself-so they would have to scan it down to get to you.
Third, can you have someone from your corp put out Giant Secure Containers with passwords you can mine into?
NOTE: I posted this in your other thread, *AFTER* thread was 'locked' Muhahahahah |

I doubt that those will work. Whenever I see someone mining to an unanchored secure container, I just take the whole container. That should pretty much work out 100% of the time. Just don't fall for any trap. But checking for corporation members in the system should be way sufficient.
The other two won't work due to lack of firepower. If you have to mine... and especially can-mine, then no one with enough firepower to even remotely retribute your loss, will give a damn about it. Unless of course, it's a trap, set up for blowing up some noob, rather than for the purpose of mining. But everyone should be able to smell traps three systems away after a while in space. |

Ideal system to mine in; Dead end chain of systems, ie only one entry into system etc and less bypassers from tradehubs.
other solutions: 1: find an industrial corp 2: Find a system with lots of local miners who if you befriend them, theyll offer orca boost and even hauling.(yes ive found that easily)

In my patrols I've come across numerous attempts by miners to get away with jet-cans. In the end, the best ways to avoid confiscation are always the simple ones:
- Don't jet-can mine. Use an alt hauler or secure cans.
- If you jet-can mine, have lots of friends around you. Although, at that point, you might as well have one of them run a hauler.
- If you do jet-can mine alone and get flipped, accept it as the price of doing business and move along.
And, for Pete's sake, don't name your can "Giant Secure Container." That never works. In fact, that's usually the first can I check for contraband. |

You can't.
But here is what I did the ONE time it happened in my early days: http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=10968084 As you can see if you perused around there, Ice Mining in Archee (.4) is not a great idea when noob.......or whenever. One of my finer moments.
Anyway, get a 2nd account by whatever means, and make it an Orca Pilot and the issue is over.
Then you only have to worry about ******SMARTBOMBS******** |

Just mine in a quiet system. Move away from the hubs a little. You may never even see a can flipper. Why don't people get this simple fact. |

The trick is not to bring attention to yourself, bit late for that now though.
One generally warps to the centre of a system, does a d scan, and zero's in on the jet-can for the flip.
Some would go from belt to belt, flipping wrecks and bumping the miner into rocks and targeting and dropping high value goods in a can, moving the ore about, chatting in local, cargo scanning, probing for sites and ships, inviting to convo, inviting to fleet even suicide ganking, joining your corp, the list is endless.
Try nul-sec, at least you know everyone's out to get you for sure. |
