There is some speculation that the max warpable range is going to be increased. Alot of this is based around the concept of the MicroJumpDrive that has been floating around. (for those of which you don't know of is a BS sized module that propels a ship forward 100km, search around for the details.)
I say if this is in fact the case *crosses fingers* increase it all the way to 255km which is the the max lockable range possible. This way you open up the battlefield to all types of tactics including not only Sniper BS (180km) but also LongRangeSniper BS (240km).
Basically if you just increase it to 200km you will only be opening up the battlefield to only a portion of tactics, you mine aswell make ALL tactics viable (255km).
This along with the MicroJumpDrive concept will be one of the best changes ever, it will open up the battlefield to tactics (which amounts to half the game) that has been missing for years.
Imagine the possibilities with LongRangeBS, SniperBS, Frigs, along with the potential of the MJD. This also opens up a lot of possibilities for drone boats aswell. Basically Eve is about to get a lot more variety in a very good way.
Things to look out for: Fix Grids, definitely easier said than done? Look out for MJD exploits, this is obvious. (Capitals should'nt be able to MJD out of bubbles) |

Pro-tip: Its crap.
You have 30 second activation before it goes into effect, 2 minute reactivation in its current version.
In effect, its only good for getting on the target. For sniper fleets, its pointless and its more useful for blaster boats to pounce on the enemy so you can web/scram then blaster them. Aside from perhaps warping in, shooting while aligning and your whole fleet moves forward 100km more (yeah, doubt you can keep your fleet in formation) before warping out again. But while the drive is spooling up, you got 500% sig yet the standard MWD has half the duration and the enemy will just blow 1 - 2 of your fleet up with massive on target alpha strike calls.

I read this as being used the other way -- if you're in a sniper fleet, and they warp their blaster fleet in on top of you... hit the mini jump, GTFO to 100KM (even better if they're all in random directions), and start shooting them again, while they're powerless against you (better have points to keep them there though). |

I searched and only fund a reference to it, is it in game? |

Current Version
20 Second spool up with 1.5 per level recution (thus 13 second) 60 second cool down.
Also you will still maintain current heading and speed so you can probably start spooling before you fully align and full speed if you are using it defensively.

It's impossible to say how it would be until it is put to the test by being implemented that said, as when they first introduced the tier3 concepts those ships underwent some serious tweaking after the initial concept was introduced.
Speculatively I do see some awesome possibilities as it is now (but only if they increase the warpable range). |
