When DO we submit petitions about this?
WTH is wrong with you CCP? Do you not know what your players have with regards to items in this game?
This was a really dumb move imho.

Here I was getting all pi55ed about my unique ship collection and mine BPOs... how are you doing Entity? I bet you are livid!
I am not pleased atm...

This deletion fiasco is genuinely upsetting to me as it undoes the 9 years of work I put into gathering the very rarest of rare items. Upsetting to the point of wondering whether I should continue investing my time in EVE. (cue "can I have your stuff" responses). I'm firmly believe items should be left alone unless they break the balance of the game. A bunch of drones, implants and other crap that has no measurable effect on the game? Why delete it if they give people joy? Perhaps it is not the "intended" way of playing the game, but for a game that is supposed to be a sandbox, being a collector is as valid a career as any other player's, and in the end we're all playing the game for fun. I have items that are literally several orders of magnitude more rare and obscure than any of the stuff that was wiped, and even some (harmless!) stuff that is not meant to be in the game, and I fear for those treasures now. Regardless of how they entered the game (accidental or intentional), they are a part of the game's rich history for better and for worse. They do not harm the game in any way, and are great conversation starters. Deleting player owned items = Deleting the game's legacy. Don't do it, CCP. No... I totally get that. While a nub in relative terms... I've been trying to collect every ship and drone myself. It is NOT easy. These items are very expensive and I couldn't even afford the "cash value" of my ships in RL if I wanted to. What really burns me up is that we make this huge effort to aquire these items and than CCP just jacks them. Excellence my ass. I've been hoping for them to get better and I thought they had turned a corner at crucible but it looks like Grayscale is back to being awesome. If CCP screwed up they could take responsibility for it and just let you keep the items or give you something of equal value in game... but like with that Enigma those pirates captured the other week (and I'm not saying a mining drone is anything like that), CCP just tosses them a PLEX and says go F*** yourself. It really does make you wonder if it's worth the effort if you are never allowed to achieve anything... or if the policy at CCP is to turn a blind eye willfully ignorant incompetence... well then that might be as bad or worse.

CCP Greyscale already said that it was going to be fixed, read the thread before moaning. It's another mistake and suddenly everyone breaks down and starts the standard "I hate CCP" bandwagon again.
Why not work with CCP and let them know exactly what you lost and try to assist them in their quest to clear out the database, that way you might get your stuff back faster and you'll be helping rather than just posting rubbish on the forums. If it was a mistake I don't think anyone would eve comment beyond bringing it to CCPs attention. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm p***** off because Greyscale intentionally deleted these items because players "weren't supposed to" have them because they weren't "supposed to" be in the game... yet these items were obtained through normal game mechanics that were in game for years! Entity has been playing since 2003! If he has some weird ass drones no one else has I would say f*** yah that's cool and I'd pay a premium for them. They have value, and represent eve history. It's not about making a mistake. It's about being incompetent and not thinking about what you are doing before you do it. Some of us spend a lot of time and brain cells trying to accrue this stuff... this isn't a nerf. Essentially it's like CCP coming out and saying "oh, we changed our mind... caps were a bad idea. We're removing them from the game" and than compensating you nothing. Think some people would rage? The question then becomes... why buy anything? Why try to amass any kind of wealth or collect stuff if CCP Greyscale is just going to take it away when he gets bored from having nothing to fix in this otherwise flawless game?

CCP Greyscale wrote:The capital hardwiring, for example was the *only* implant of that entire set existing on TQ, and I find it hard to believe that exactly one implant found its way into the game through wholly legitimate means.
Maybe you should look into that instead of swinging around vague accusations. How would it have gotten in game? Seems like a really lazy answer... but then I suppose that's par for the course per the lazy execution on this.
CCP Greyscale wrote:Leaving one of these things in the DB because some player has acquired one illicitly means that this exact kind of problem, where we have things in the DB that appear to be in game but which nobody can remember *why* they're ingame, is more likely to happen in future. This is exactly the kind of ongoing problem that we were trying to prevent in the first place with this cleanup.
Can't remember? So I guess CCP doesn't have access to Google. That's a real shame.

I like seeing the fire. ...that said, I think you might be getting a bit big for your britches. While I realize you are probably one of (if not just "the") the most prolific collectors in all of gaming and in one of the most challenging environments, I think CCP would kick you as easily as I or anyone else. We are very replaceable and insignificant from what I've seen. I don't think CCP has any concept of the word "unique". Maybe there's no Icelandic translation. It would explain a lot.

That said, how can Mines truly be a collector item, if BPOs exist, they can still be produced, and due to the way EVE functions (no visible item creation date, serial number, etc) there is no way to tell between a 2003-built mine and a 2012-built one?
I'm from the Empyrean Age timeframe, so mines were unusable when I started.
As far as I can remember the BPO has no build requirements of skills or materials and cannot actually be used to produce mines. It can however be used to produce BPC's. Incorrect. I had thousands of them in my hanger.

Testing after/if we get them back may not prove anything either if they mess with them. We have the tools...
Those are the stats on the BPO from the Crucible 1.2 (341054) database.
I really like that site.
btw - I don't see what the point of messing with the stats of something you can't even use would be, other than to give a big finger to the player base.

Id like to think my BPO still held some value though. Yah mine BPOs were going for about 300 mil or so. The mines were going for very little in contracts, but it was a good place to start out for people who wanted to start collecting unique items or for people who were profiting from collectors. I know a couple of people who were making a few ISK selling mines.

What is this script? Is it something you've released publicly or is it an Entity only script? This has made me think about what else I might loose. I'd love a copy if you don't mind!

Maybe I'll make a polished version at some point. No prob I just thought I'd ask
At least you are on the case. I'll just trust that when items go missing you'll know.

Snowball Launchers - I had 11 in my hanger and now I have... 11. Yah it looks like snowball launchers were NOT removed. I had both the versions of snowballs and there was only one version of launcher for both releases so there should not be variations in who got there's removed and who did not. Snowball launchers are still in the DB so if yours are missing check your assets and if they are still missing I guess submit a petition... because you should still have them.
Edit - Inventory Check Ammo: Melted Snowball MMV: 1248 Melted Snowball MMVIII: 1467
...nothing to see here.

T20 has nothing to do w/ this. He hacked into systems and broke some other rules. I'm inclined to think the item deletion thing is an honest mistake. People who keep random high value nick-knacks in their hanger aren't always able to be heard over the roar of alliance ragers. I'll help keep this thread alive as long as it takes. I'm pretty confident that CCP isn't trying to spite anyone. They just need to get around to this. Until then... *bump*

I haven't heard of a player owning any of them though.
tl;dr; - petition if capsules went missing... they can give them back right now b/c they are still in the tranq database.

In some instances I have frigs that have an extra rig (3 when they are only supposed to have two) or 2 guns and 2 launchers on a frig that has been rebalanced and can now only fit say 2 guns. While those ships are still fitted thusly, they can't undock. I get an error saying something to the effect of "Your *ship* can only fit 2 rigs but has 3" or something to that effect.
I wonder if anyone has a ship that still has a warp core... that would be a neat thing to get. Entity?

Before it was rig or not rigged. All the rigs give the same bonuses. I just am not near them atm and I really don't fly them. I keep them for posterity. Back then almost nobody rigged ships. I have two of the large rigged ships for collectible. One is a phantasm, the other is a purifier. Used to have a large rigged succubus too, but I learned the hard way about the burning down the hive epic part. When multiple rig sizes were added, the drawbacks to shield sig radius for large shield rigs was less than that of the small counterparts, and likewise for the propulsion rigs and their drawbacks. Now they are all the same. I don't know when it changed tbqh but I do remember there was a slight advantage initially.

I purchased 2 not long ago.. Transported them via an alt, and traded them to this toon. They were in my hanger. I logged off, back on, and they were gone.
Is this intentional, or just some glitch ? I've petitioned over it, but have got no response [ petition made 10 days ago ].
If no one should have these, then I should never have been able to trade for them, or transport them. If you have now decided that we shouldn't have them, then we should be compensated. Why should WE be punished for purchasing something in game, only to have you decide that people shouldn't have them anymore ?
They were introduced into the game by you, CCP. Intentional or not. They have remained in the game for all this time, with no statement saying that they are illegitimate, and may be removed. You have allowed them to remain in game, allowed people to buy and trade for them. Removing them after that with no regard for that is rather disturbing.. And would be a kick in the balls to everyone in this sandbox. As I've said before, most of us who had capsules still have them. I still have mine in a station warehouse. Some were just auctioned off on the sell orders section of the forum. If you had them and you no longer do, you should petition it. Their removal didn't (to my knowledge) have anything to do with the database because they are still in the TQ database. I would petition it now if you are missing capsules. They can give them back to you now.

It seems we need this feature now too, given CCP's history of "oops". Entity said he has a script that he runs to check asset integrity. I'm working on something now that's more of a web app that uses the api to show inventory snapshots daily... but it's going to be a while until I have adequate time to work on it. Until then I am just going to watch what Entity says because if I have it, he has it, and if anything goes missing he will probably be the first to know.
