Edited by: Fremen Knite on 08/07/2008 12:08:43 While going into a warp recently, I had an idea.
Right before the ship enters warp, it briefly stops. The previous velocity the ship was traveling at has no effect on this phenomenon; you could have been going 6 km/s, but you'll stop sure as anything.
I wondered if it would be possible to create a module for a ship that would implement this strange feature. I think this would be a great (or greatly annoying) addition to the game, and not to mention the fact that it would create some new strategies. A friend of mine noted that it would mess around with nanoships.
Of course, there need to be skills for the module, as we can't have every pilot in the galaxy putting about with such a powerful tool.
As for cap use, I think something comparable to the initial draw of a MWD would be sufficient. For such a useful and powerful module, a ship needs to be large to accommodate it.
An idle though, but interesting nonetheless.
I did some searching around, read through the commonly proposed ideas sticky, and didn't find anything like this. If I skipped over it, sorry! I'll delete the thread.

Wouldn't that only affect other ships? The whole point is to do this to yourself, not others.

To what end?
What's the point of having this ability? And why is it so important, that you'd give up a slot much better used for other modules, just so you can stop sooner. ---
Don't take my rantings personally. I may just be arguing the topic... unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. |

Edited by: d3vo on 08/07/2008 20:08:18 this could be useful to mission runnings in low sec stopping the ship allows the ship to realign quicker i wouldnt use it tbh though (real men do missions in low sec)
rather the opposite, full speed boost thingy __________ -_- |

I like the idea. It could be some kind of "anchor" that also prevents ships from being bumped. Which itself is a powerful ability, but not too overpowered for sacrificing one slot.
Would also help capitals using sentry drones ;). -

You know if you hit backspace it puts you into full-stop?
