I know that they are great for gang work, but do they also bonus you if you are solo/not in a gang?

If you can get an alt or friend to be in the same system as you, they do provide some decent defense bonuses, but other than that, not really.

Leadership skills only apply when
1. You are in a fleet/wing/squadron 2. The booster of said fleet/wing/squadron is in the same system 3. and undocked
Running solo will not grant you any bonus from the leadership skills...

Unless you want to fly a Command Ship in your mission, which I believe requires Leadership V to get to fly...

Edited by: Twarda Sztuka on 11/08/2008 10:50:54 Lets assume that you have two accounts. Account A have nice bonuses from Leadership category. Account B is skilling to be a trader somewhere else. Log into two accounts. Invite account B to the fleet. Make account A a sqadron booster. Now the bonuses should affect account A when it is not docked. The purpose of account B is only to make a fleet (you can't make it with just one character).
Now with skills at level V you get 10% bonuses to armor, shields, speed and targeting speed. If you put a correct mindlink in your head you get 15% for one of those. If you have command ship with warfare links it gets even better.

Doesn't work. In order to get the bonuses, 3 conditions have to be met: 1: Squad commander has to be undocked in the system 2: Squad booster has to be undocked in the system 3: Atleast 1 squad member has to be undocked in the system Your suggestion fail point 3. If that trader is just skilling, you can have him afk in a safespot in space in the system you're running missions in though.

You do however need Leadership III to train the advanced connections skills (e.g. military connections).

Don't forget the bolded part, that and speed are te 2 most useful ones for me when I mission with my ravens, helps me get in range on missions like worlds collide faster. The hp bonuses and lock speed bonus are nice extras, but not realy important for most missions.

You need to have at least 2 people in the gang and in space in that system, there's no real reason why those skills couldn't also work when you are in a gang on your own except CCP likes people with multiple accounts.

Thanks,
Not directly, no. They don't, unless you have a assinged role in a fleet OR are in a gang.
HOWEVER, Leadership itslef as a skill is a prereq for a couple of the Connections skills (DED Connections as a example), so saying that the leadership skills are totally valuless to a solo missioneer is not exactly true.

I always fly with a wingman alt, so they are very useful in that situation. ------------

Ooh, unimportant stuff like extra shields, extra armor points, reduced shield/armor rep time, increased repper cap usage, increased resistances...
The increases aren't that big though... only 10percent to 30 percent depending on the attribute

Maybe because its called leadership you tit.
I'm not going to deny CCP like money as much as the next corporation, but the skills are there to add bonuses for teams of players working together. Encouraging people to work together rather than solo in a MMORPG.
