I am curious as to which skills (I'm guessing there's multiple) will help lower the powergrid (and CPU) cost of my fitted weapons? (railguns)

Weapon upgrades for Cpu and Advanced Weapon upgrades for PG.

Make sure your Engineering and Electronics are at V as well...with Weapon Upgrades and Advanced Weapon upgrades, it just maximizes your PG and CPU output.

There's something more than Advanced Weapon Upgrades and Weapon Upgrades that affects at least the PSU need for weapons (my engineering and mechanic is already V).
Anyone know what the other skill(s) are?
I can tell because if I plug in "V All Skills" in my EFT, the powergrid requirements go down a LOT compared to my current set skills; and even setting Adv. Weapon Upgrades to 5, I don't get this.
The difference with one setup I have is 25,000 (red) vs. 20,000. So some skill is saving a LOT beyond the Advanced Weapon Upgrades...

Have you looked at your other modules? I imagine one of them is experiencing a severe savings from something else entirely. I couldn't tell you what, because 5000 grid is a hell of a lot, as is 20%, but figure out what module is responsible for the change first. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

Any weapon rigs?

It's not a module or anything. In EFT I just switch between my character and a char with "All Skills at L5" and it drops like a rock.
There's some major skill we're overlooking here.
The drop doesn't come from adjusting any fittings (including rigs). --- CuddleMonkey! |

If you are fitting like a dozen large shield extenders to something, then shield upgrades brings that down... AWU lowers grid use for guns the rigging skill for the rigs you are using reduces grid penalties It is possible a combination of these things is what precipitates the drop.

Nah my issue is with 7x450mm Railguns. With my current skills I can only fit 5. With "All Skills V" it can fit 7 no problem.
The issue seems to be powergrid.

It's a module, because only modules take PG. Look at the grid use on each module with your skills versus all-V, and figure out which one is dropping. Then figure out which module is bringing in the gargantuan discrepancy, right-click on it, and go to "Change Affecting Skill". You'll diagnose it very quickly, I assure you. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

You may also have a pg implant on your all-lvl5-char.

Actually I figured it out - Hybrid Rigs. That made a near 3K difference with the rigs I had loaded. --- CuddleMonkey! |
