Edited by: Denuo Secus on 09/07/2008 17:44:52 Hi there,
I've not so much PvP experience - so let me ask a question about tactics and ranges.
HAM drake does more damage at shorter ranges. HM drake makes lesser damage (100 DPS I think) and is more versatile (range, FOFs, Precision missiles if they'll be fixed soon ).
I know these theoretical facts. But I'd be glad if someone with more PvP experience could tell me if the versatility of HMs do really matter in "common" PvP. And if so, under which tactical circumstances?
I could imagine some of them:
(1) attacking an unsuspecting target (2) attacking a suspecting target (3) attacking an escaping target (4) attacking support of an attacker/target (5) defending myself/someone in my fleet in case of an unsuspected ambush (6) defending myself/someone in my fleet in case of an suspected ambush (to lie on lookout) (7) camp someone/somewhat (8) .... things I've never thought about
Thanks, Secus

heavy missiles, long range, meh dammage, does vurtually the same ammount of dammage to frigs as it does to bs.
heavy assault short range, very good dps, harder than heavy's to fit, are not effected by some fo the missile skills (cant remember exactly which ones)
heavy missile drake is good in gangs as it can dish out some dps at good range and does nto need to move much and can still field a hell of a passive tank
heavy assault missile drake, not much tank (2 extenders 2 invulns maby resistance rigs) fairly slow but able to get in range of most other bc before they can run, damn good dammage (in my experience) and lets not forget that the drake is a seksy ship

So I could consider to drop the MWD to get more tank? But I'm not sure. Is the range of HM (especially T2) enough for most PvP situations? And if I want to go to 0.0 I'm in trouble if jump into a bubble...but a scout could solve that problem...mhm.
