I would like to commence a new game of Mornigton Crescent using the Cobblethorpes 1960 Beeching execution variant with:
Threadneedle Street
(Beware though, the 1833 Half Scr0tum is banned.)

Edited by: Aaron on 11/07/2008 11:58:44 Edited by: Aaron on 11/07/2008 11:56:58 you sound like you've been driven mad by doing the Knowledge,
doing the Knowledge of london involves riding around on a motorbike learning the 1000's of roads and points of interest within a 5 mile radius of central London. with the desire to become a london taxi driver.
to assist knoledge students, there are "blue books" that list 320 fictitious routes around london, to have any chance of ever completing the knowledge this book must be worked and memorised road for road.
so do have some sympathy for the OP, hes been driven to insanity bless him, my insanity may be compromised soon as I have been doing the knowledge for about a year now.

Gents, you realise it's very bad form to not provide some explanation as to the underlying logic of your moves and what rules your bringing into play. And surely starting on Threadneedle Street is banned under the 57th revision of Trumpington's Variations.
Anyway I'll go for Hanger Lane

Oh Gawd i'm surrounded by amatuers.
One simply cannot go to St Pancreas via Hanger Lane and Bayswater. According the the offical Mornington Cres. handbook "Cobblethorpes" the 1960 Beeching Execution variation negates Trumpingtons variation and all moves thereafter UNTIL 'Nvolds Old Perculier' has been enacted. Therefore, I suggest that a move to Wimbledon South (with a restart using 'Strangely' Greens "Mornington Crescent on Weekends" variation) is the only valid option.
So, its Wimbledon South.

Wimbeldon South is a good move, I'll grant you. In honor of the recent Bastille Day (that was Monday, for those who do not know), I am going to invoke the Sun King Rules set down by Louis XIV himself. Yes, it's a few centuries off from the holiday, but the French Feeling remains. At any rate, due to the Sun King Rules, a move to Kingsbury must be made as it sounds utterly pretentious. That's a part of the rules.
So, Kingsbury it is. Next? "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move." - Douglas Adams |

I foresee a dev zerg rush later today.
In the meantime I play the Hampton Court wildcard and move to Willesden Junction.
As I am sure you are all aware, the Hampton Court wildcard does not allow me to pass go, does not allow me to collect 200 quid but does give me the option of either a boot, car or hat AND requires the next three players to pay rent or miss a turn.

I'll have a cheeky move to Wembley Central.
I don't mind paying the fine Mitnal, I'm sure you will agree that the benefits outweigh your punitive action. Will you take ISK or must it be in úSterling? As we began at Threadneedle I believe I am allowed to invoke the "Old Lady" rule and pay the fine in whatever currency I choose.

I'll see your cheeky Wembly Central and trump you with an unexpectedly devious hop to West Brompton. I know some old duffer is going to find some obscure rule from Cobblethorpes to counter this move, but until this happens the game goes on! EVE is dead, long live EVE!

Cobblethorpes 1960 Beeching, eh?
With that in mind, I pick Nevesky Prospekt as my starting location - I skip my turn, thus gaining three red airplane counters.
I know what you are thinking, but boy do I have a surprise for you!

Seen as this is an invalid move (even a new player should understand that).
I'm going to take Camden Town, letting me play the Euston card, which lets me take two tokens from a player of my choice (Mital ), who also misses his next turn.

Indeed, one cannot simply waltz into Mornington Crescent before at least a dozen moves are made. Such was written in the Marlowe Rules of 1593, jotted down in honor of the death of Christopher Marlowe. His Faust was so inspiring that Elizabeth I was said to have. . .but I digress. As it stands, also using the Marlowe Rules, my next move is going to be to Golders Green.

Edited by: Norwest on 22/07/2008 05:56:03 Well played good sir. I shall shift the play to 'Edmonton Greens', allowed under the 'Commonwealth Appreciation Accords' of 1912, where-in moves involving places those lovely little colonies have named minor capitals after are encouraged - granting 2 green car tokens to the player performing the move, as well as to the player on his right. ***** Rule 27: 'Don't be afraid to be the first to resort to violence.' -The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Pirates [schlockmercenary.com] |

A cunning move, had it not been for the 1994 Shabba Ranks Principle (ChakaDemus amendment version) which blocks this. I therefore move to Euston Square. -- 2d EveMaps My blog

Don't be foolish, you've clearly misinterpreted the rules! You can't do that under Shabba Ranks! Your move to Euston must be blocked. The only viable move in this situation is the inverse doubleback, which therefore takes me back to Golders Green.

Interesting move... of course, with the Sopwith Camel rules of 1404 (the earliest recorded variant), you now have to name your pairs, lest your move become invalid.
Assuming you have valid pairs, I name Cranley Gardens.
