Edited by: Remata Lakira on 11/07/2008 16:50:45 We all know and fear the recruitment channel. It is spamtastic and the lack of moderators means that gold farmers are free to advertise their websites as they see fit. A week or so ago I, along with a few others, took part in starting up a new recruitment channel. It is called 'SIGNUP'.
The lowdown: - It is a channel for 0.0 recruitment. Only corps/alliances in 0.0 may recruit here. Exceptions are made for alliances in empire currently aiming to get into 0.0. - Smacktalk between rival corps/alliances is forbidden - Spam is forbidden. This channel is for casually notifying people that your corp is recruiting. Your 'advert' may not be longer than two lines and repeating your notification within a timeframe of ten minutes is forbidden. - Anyone advertising an isk-selling site gets banned. Many of you will think that this is pointless given gold farmers utilisation of trial accounts but at least this will slow them down. It's still a heck of a lot better than the unmoderated recruitment channel, right?
But channels like these already exist? They do? Well I have never heard of it and I have spent a lot of time in this forum, as well as the recruitment channel, so this channel of yours obviously failed as an alternative form of recruiting.
It's going to fail, lolz. It might, but that's not reason to not try to improve things.
I'm going to be a smartass and point out a flaw in your plan. Ok, but that still won't change the fact that this is a better alternative to the recruitment channel.
So whether you're a 0.0 alliance/corp recruiter or someone looking to get into 0.0, join the SIGNUP channel and have a gander.
