On a trial, that I was planning to pay for at the end, at 9 days into it, I finally got to the stage of buying my first cruiser, I was soo happy, I went around and picked up all the gear and started taking it back to where the cruiser was (gear cost more then the cruiser), I was broke after buying it all. On the way for some reason, I saw a rat, not sure if I was in low sec or high sec, but I'm sure it was a rat, it engaged me, so I locked it since it was only a frigate and I was in a destroyer, but for some reason the gate guns suddenly fired on me and pop I went, all my gear lost :( To this day I still don't know what happened. I'm sure it was a rat and it engaged me first, and I'm sure I didn't lock a gate/gun...
On this account, I went into my first ever FW with a hyperion, T2 fitted except guns. It was almost out of full insurance so I didn't mind losing it as it would pay up most of it back. After mopping up around 1bill of kills, one been a redeemer who was stupid enough to fly through low sec in FW space without scouts or checking, he jumped through a gate into our large group, he didn't last long. We warped to a gate with a small amount of intel stating large enemy group on other side, at the time we had 5 BS, me been the biggest, and around 50-55 ships all up. Instead of been smart and warping say 50-100km off the gate to snipe since I had rails, I sat right on the gate, and they all jumped in, primaried me and before I knew it, I was dead. Turned out our minimal intel wasn't enough. It was an 80+ strong fleet that was very BS heavy, my whole militia fleet scattered and ran for safe spots or out of system.
Another one been sitting in low sec running lv3 mission in Apoc, I had aligned after seeing some sus people in local, but I made too much distance on a stuck rat, so as soon as I turned around, a arbitrator shows up scrams me, and proceeds to tank my guns and drones, while he killed me with drones and some NPCs shooting me.
One more time been in 0.0 in a home system of my corp/alliance, I was ratting, and saw a single ship come in, it wasn't an old character, and no intel said anything about any groups waiting near the system, so I just aligned, I lagged a bit and this little ship showed up so I engaged, instead of warping right away, after I realised I couldn't actually cause much damage to him, i was in my Harbinger who has escaped jumping into 30 man gate camps getting chased, escaping recon ships etc, only to be scrammed by this little ship, I spent the next 2 minutes shooting at it, and well it took very little damage, too much speed, and my T1 drones didn't hurt it much as I had meds and he was frigate size moving decent speed. After 2 mins I heard reports of a group coming, they jumped in on me and promptly dropped a bubble on me. All there were was about 5 other small ships also, rangin from cruisers to frigs again. It took them 4 minutes of combined firepower to down me. The whole time since I first started the little frigate, I asked alliance/corp for help and was ignored ;(
