Okay, I was happily hauling stuff about, and I got dropped. After that, I've been getting Server status: Unknown, with "connection to server closed" whenever I attempted to login. Strangest part about it is I can still ping the eve server, access the forums etc. Ideas? |

Destination not reached in 35 hops
the 2nd node vlan55-k2.otenet.net [62.103.14.193] has an average 75% packet loss.. guess thats where our problem is coming, it'd be nice if someone that has the same problem logging on from Greece try a tracert, might help before i call them. |

Ok, i found something that might cheer you guys up.
I'm a very bad guy and i often play Eve @ work, doing that i need a few tools to bypass our firewall.
There is the idea, avoid Ote nodes to log on Eve.
I'm using Your-Freedom (www.your-freedom.net/) to establish a connection with some random free proxy, and ProxyCap (http://www.proxycap.com/download.html) to force Eve using my local settings as connection Info.
I already saw a lot of FAQ's on Eve's forum to use these tools.
I'm a bit busy atm, but i'll post a walk through later.

the help line of otenet says there is nothing wrong with "the internet". as soon as a started talking bout packet loss and nodes i was given the email to otenet's noc and i was told to submit there .

When I try to do a tracert I get errors on the 3rd hop...
I'm also using PingPlotter get an error message on the same hop. Packet loss is at 30% to 60%.
