Not only did he save every single one of his crew during the Endurance expedition with some amazing feats which would have left 99% of us hugging ourselves, rocking in a corner; he then also when they got back to England signed up for the army (1917, WW1) and requested to be sent to France. Crossing the Drake Passage in a tiny boat is a feat almost inexplicable in its bravery and endurance (No pun intended), then crossing South Georgia ON FOOT which to this day is listed as impossible. I salute Shackleton! 07
