Ok, so to start this off, i have searched the forums about this topic and found some interesting information. But it just leaves me with more questions. First off, i know evemobile is a dead project. What i am interested in is remote desktop/VPN capabilities. All the threads on the subject are quite old. One thread, located here talks about a mobile remote desktop program that allows you to open eve on your computer at home and then access it from your mobile to switch skills, chat, ect. The program is called RDM+ and it works great, i can access my desktop and use my home computer from my mobile. Only problem is i get a blank black screen when i try to view the eve client. I dont know if theres a setting somewhere i can change to fix this, or if i need to look into VPN's or what. Any help on the matter would be greatly apreciated. Im a dork and would love to be able to switch skills/chat with guildies on my mobile.

You should be able to get RDM+ to work, I had it running years ago on an old mobile - it can only have improved since then.
If I had to take a guess, I would go for it being a case of not having vertical sync enabled in the eve client.
Logging in In Game
Haven't tried doing for ages though - might have to give it a go on my N95

Standard remote desktop works. There should be a "Terminal Services" application on your windows mobile phone. Now enable remote desktop on your PC, log in to the proper IP address and it works.
The problem with this is that you cannot actually play EVE. Its horribly, horribly slow and the only cool thing about it is that you can take a picture of it and show your corpmates how you have EVE on your mobile phone.
At best it can be used to change a skill in an emergency. x |

For some reason the phone didnt come with any terminal services (tmobile dash). Also im not trying to go pvping or mining, i just want to be able to do skill changes for the short skills, and maybe a little chatting with guildies.

guildies? GUILDIES???? Dammit, this isn't WoW, we grownups call them Corps. For your own sake, get it right or get used to being forever abused for being a WoWNub

Never mess with a guy in an ugly ship. He's bitter and has nothing to lose. |

What stage do you get the black screen? Is it when you open Eve, or after you log in, or when the game actually loads?

Well the phone actually never renders eve at all. I have seen the opening screen through the phone before, but never the logon screen. I have also tried to log on eve and then start the connection from the phone but it just shows the top blue bar of the window and the border of the window, but nothing inside.

Try switching Eve between fullscreen/windowed and see if that makes any difference.

If i remember rightly you had to change the setting in rdm so that it doesn't poll windows for changes but instead updates the entire screen because eve doesn't tell windows that the screen has changed.
Been ages since i used it though.... |

I heard that once before. However i cannot find any options in rdm that relate to the updating of the window. I have gotten VNC to work, however its much slower, and not as easy to use as the rdm client, so im hoping to get rdm working...someday
Thanks for the input everyone, getting much better support for rdm here than rdm's official website lol.

lmfao this guy must be trying to hide the fact he was in wow and yeah wow must of been created before (300 - 600 AD) because this is one of the earliest dates of a creation of a guild known to man.
The first Corporation was created in the 14th century and some call them society's created in the 15th century
so get your facts right before you flame, the center of your world must be wow if you refer to it like that
Rant off gl getting it sorted but yeah i have no clue on this topic, tought id have a rant

RDM+ should work for just about any phone. I know there is windows mobile, and blackberry versions, among others.

I had a play with a few on my N95 8GB RDM+ worked with the video hook off (but slow, oh so slow)
Tried out PT Pocket Office and it works very nicely, even if the interface is a bit fiddly (and because it is a real vpn product you are actually connecting to your PC, so you have to forward ports through your router, and open them on your firewall and stuff - much fun). However, it is very fast if you just want to use it wirelessly on your LAN, so you can switch skills from the comfort of your sofa/bed :) I have paid for the full version, and will give an update when I get it (by email). Cost about ú16. Oh, and it comes with is's own VPN server, but is also compatible with others, such as ultra, tight, and real - so that is handy if you want to use it on a non windows OS.

I attempted to check out the PT trial, but guess its not made for WMobile6.0, phone says the installer isnt intended for my device atleast rdm works for now, although it is pretty slow
