Not so, you don't drink coffee without sweeteners.
Eech, I can't stand sweetened coffee. Never have, not since my very first cup.
Bitter can be a good thing, and beer is tasty. The malt, the hops, the bitter-sweet loveliness...
But still, only drink what you like. If you don't like beer, I'm sure there are plenty of alcopops or such you can try... ------

So you like the 0% alcohol beer just the same as say dark beer?
Well I'm not so much a lager fan, and most of the 0% beers taste like a low quality lager. Nothing against 0% beers in principle, though. Just a matter of taste. ------

OK OK, lets just tackle some of the beergotry (geddit?) going around in this thread.
1) There is nothing wrong with enjoying the odd pint with your friends. It does not make one a loser, or unsuccessful, or an addict. It is also not the same as binge drinking (which is idiotic, and thats coming from person who's been on the business end of a few). Only people with incredibly addictive or irresponsible personalities need worry about tee-totalling, unless its something they actually want to do for their own sake.
2) Lager is a type of beer. While most brands of American/British/Aussie lager are unbearable ditch water, there are a few gems out there. Some of the central European lagers are very decent and certainly don't suffer from being fizzy and cold, and I am partial to a drop of Cobra when in any Indian restaurants that serve it. That said, the best beers for me are cask-matured, cellar-temperature, and have a rich, deep colour. Artificial tap carbonation (as many of the mass-produced lagers practice) is a mortal sin, and ruins a perfectly good beer.
3) A good beer can be bitter, and many absolutely must be bitter. If I ordered a pint of my local brewery's "Best Bitter Beer" and it was sweet there would be something seriously amiss. The bitter flavour comes from the hops, and some styles of beer (IPAs spring to mind) are supposed to be extremely hoppy. Beers and their flavours vary as much as any other food or drink. The variation is part of what makes tasting beers fun.
4) Spirits and beer are two completely different things, and shouldn't be compared. I like beer, but I'm also a fan of Scotch, and I'm not averse to a bit of brandy (if it's good brandy and someone else is paying). But when you want beer you want beer, and when you want Scotch you want Scotch, and the two things just shouldn't be overlapping. ------
