Anyone knows of a link with the different ships and their stats?
Also at which point should one buy a new ship? From what I have read so far it's not only buying the ship, but outfitting it with goodies too.
Can I move modules from my free/newbie ship to a new ship?

EVE-I Ship Explorer
First new ship should be a frigate with as many turrets on it as you can get. That way you can either mine or hunt. If you're going to mine next one the list is a hauler. After that you will know what you're doing.
You can drag mods off your ship and place in your hanger. Then when you want to fit to a ship just drag from the hanger to a slot on a ship. Mods are categorised low, medium and high, they will only go in the slots they're meant for.
All mods require a skill to be used. Once you find the mods you want to use you'll become aware of what skill you'll need. Get assistance from the Help channel, its listed under the channel icon on the left.

for compairing ships use Linkage you should go for a new ship asap "from your noob ship" after that its upto you really. while i fly a bs i tend to spend a lot of time in my kestrel "caldari frigate." what you want to do in eve will sortof dictate what you fly, make sure you have the proper skills trained before you buy your next ship. modules are interchangeable as long as your new ship has the right type of slots, missile points will not hold mining lasers or projectile weapons. _______________________________________________

Thanks for the feedback. On my way to pickup a Bantam ship. More than double the cargo space to begin with.
And thanks for the link to the Eve-DB. Very usefull.

Just keep in mind the Bantam isn't quite an offensive powerhouse (if its without assault drones). I got my *** handed to me a couple of times by a pair of Guristas...

I didn't get to look at the link until today. Nice link thanks!!. What is a hauler? Is that an industry ship? |

Thanks for the warning. Right now, like any newbie, I am just around my original base learning the basics. Compared to the free ship this is twice the cargo room. Moreover, I got my Bantam for close to 16,000. A sweet price for a starter player like myself. |

Edited by: Valan on 27/05/2004 21:08:35 Yes a hauler is an industrial aka indy. If you have a Bantom and fancy a bit of action from time to time, get yourself a Merlin as well.

My first ship after the newbie ship was the Probe. I did very well both mining AND hunting with it.
It has bonus to cargo space and speed for each level of skill if I remember correctly.
I actually liked hunting with it a little more than the Incursus I have now, due to the fact I could stay out a long time due to the added cargo space.
Probes frequently sell for 80k and under...

I like my probe, even more cargo space would be nice, but compared to the other ships in its class it's very 'roomy'. And it's a rather good fighter as well.
