Can you WARP without having an object selected to warp to? I've heard rumors that some people can do this. Is it considered an exploit if it can be done? Reason I'm asking is that I followed a BM and the BM was obviously bugged as I went out to 10k au from the gate. It took me over an hour and a half to warp back with a BSs big power core. I decided the object in question doesn't exist, but am waiting until the person who gave me the BM returns. Anyway I have some nice BMs, one of which is 400 odd au from the gate.
I have "heard" of pirates stealing ships in Deep Space, but don't know what they mean by Deep Space. If I leave a ship 2k au away from the gate, sun, whatever, in 0.0 space, how in the world would they be able to find it without many months of searching? This assumes they can warp at will, and make minor changes in direction when they return to their start point, say the sun.
Thank you.

You dont need celstial objects to warp to. You can as well choose to warp towards bookmarks.
as long as you leave your ship in space between to celestial objects, it is easy to find. it takes time, but it is possible.
you cannot warp into "nowhere" , but as long as there is any way of warping to a certain point using bookmarks, you can go there.

Assumedly he could mine then go jump in to a fighter and then into an indy without having to change ships at a station.

Yes, but if my ship is 400 au away from anything, or 2k au and effectively out of the system, who will find my ship if I park a frieghter and BS miner/fighter/whatever? I realize you can warp to a BM. I just keep hearing rumors from veterans that some people know how to warp to nothing. Does anyone know someone who does it? Is it legal? Thanks so much!

Finding a ship in "deep space" can be done with the help of the scaner and some work. Warping to "nothing" without a bookmark is not AFAIK possible. How ever there are sertain ships that with the right setup of mods, like a couple of MWD, can reach near (or even higher than?) warp speeds with out actualy warping. |

I doubt there are ships that travel 3 aus (93 million miles x 3) per second using MWD. 600,000,000 km/s, (very approximately) using MWD? Not a chance in hell.

i would not leave any ship at a bm that was given to you, if you have it so does someone else. _______________________________________________

I'm pretty sure it was posible some time ago (not with ONE MWD obviously, but with several). But CCP has modifyed MWD's (made then clas specific for example) so it might not be possible any more.
I never tryed this my self so ofcours I can't be 100% sure it ever worked, but I saw many postings on this forums about the insane speeds people got from using multiple MWD's. |
