I have for a while been playing around with how easy Eve Fitting tool is to give setups a try before buying parts, and came up with a possible new feature to make actually buying the mods in game much easier. If CCP were to put in place a standardized XML spreadsheet for ship fittings, programs like EFT could be changed to spit that out instead of what it does now. This can be put into use by making a, to say, shop the Marketplace by XML fuction. Basicly, add a new tab to the Marketplace along with the normal tabs. Imports the XML file and brings up a list of all the mods in a clean window. I can relate that this would vastly improve the buying of ship fittings instead of typing in each mod one by one to buy. Possibly also doing something with the fitting window related to this as well. Just my two isk of a idea.
(Sorry if this was brought up before, didn't want to spend two hours searching through the forums)

Similar stuff was brought up before, but did not include XML. Shopping by fitting, better even with advanced matching (I want that mwd, or that mwd, but not any other mwd) is an nberfeature.

It just seems like it would make the whole buying of mods soooo much simpler.

As nice as it sounds, I think it would also cause more server issues. Is you take the dev's responses on reloading all your wepaons at the same time, they state that to activate everything in one go would increase the load on the system at the time of activation, whereas with manually selecting each weapon to reload, the server load is more spread out instead of spiked. Spikes are bad ;) __________________________ Nice forum - I'll take it! |
