Edited by: Securitas Protector on 27/07/2008 05:43:24 Hello all, Securitas here. Before I say anything else, the first event is completely FREE. I've decided to try to revive one of my interests, much like the Rat Race, but more spur-of-the-moment, generosity kind of thing. The first event will be very simple and quite easy. New and old alike will be able to participate, regardless of skillpoints or ISK, just as easily. A passcode will be given on these forums, and if it is an event with a ship as a prize, you must convo me with the passcode to receive the ship to verify that you were actually trying to find me and didn't just stumble across me on accident. Let me define the EveExP event types: Choose - A simple quest for an item or ship. This is the easiest; you are given 3 systems, and the item will either be at one of the planets, moons, or asteroid belts in one of those systems. These systems will be relatively close. If the item is in a belt, a password to the can will be given on the forums. If it is a ship, it will not be left in a belt. In essence, you must choose between celestial objects.
Find - A slightly more advanced quest for an item or ship. This is also quite easy, but the prize is slightly harder to get to. You are given 2 systems to find it in. The prize will be some hundred kilometers off of the selected object(planet, moon, OR star) and MAY have a riddle protecting it. These prizes are often slightly more valuable.
Sift - An advanced quest for those in astrometrics frigates or covert ops ships, the can will be hidden between planets, stars, or celestial objects in a "safe spot." You will need to use probes to find it and warp to it. To make up for the difficulty, these prizes will often be far more valuable. You are given the system where the item is hidden.
Now, as to what this event will be: Type: Choose Prize: Caracal Entry: Free Systems: TBA
Just say so if you want to participate, and I'll give the date and systems when enough people sign up.

I might participate in this, depending on where the systems are located. If they're too far, then... you know, they're too far.
If you need any help organizing this, I'd be glad to offer my assistance. --------------------------------- From #eve-chaos [11:47am] Ulviirala: my damn balls are bigger than these veldspar roids |

There will be many events; this is the first and thus I'll start small. For this event, it is "only" a caracal. For harder/later events it will get larger, rest assured.

If my schedule allows it, yeah, I'm in. I could use a new Caracal ^_^

I can assure you that at least one system will be in Caldari highsec, and they will all be within 10 jumps of each other, so for this event, probably, yeah. Lets get some more interest!

You said this before and a way to solve i would be to park a ship (can be cheap shuttle) next to can and name it "Project: Beginnings".

I went on an unavoidable, terrible 8 day camping trip. I am now back and ready to organize the events. Please edit your posts to say if you are still interested. The date is set for either Saturday or Sunday. I'm baaacc***!
Thanks, Securitas

Just broke 2m SP. I've decided to give Astrometrics a try, to satisfy personal curiosity. I'd love to go on the scavenger hunt, and hopefully learn something along (just put a buy order for probe launcher and some probe ammo, it'll mount in either a cruiser with enough CPU exeq, or an Imicus frig)... I've gone through the FAQs, but they were outdated on how probes work and such. Let me know when this is going down, sign me up!!
Also, would there be anyone available to fly the ship into a station? I'can't fly a Cali cruiser just yet (only their frigs) in case my beginner's luck can track it...

Alright. I totally forgot about this, but now I'm game.
The systems are Usi, Kausaaja, and Paara. It's in any of those.
I will be deploying the Caracal as soon as I can. When it's floating somewhere I'll notify you on here. Everyone who thought this was dead, it's not, so get ready to look. Remember, at planets or moons.

Edited by: Securitas Protector on 17/08/2008 02:43:47 Alright, it's a VEXOR instead of a Caracal. Same systems. It'll be floating around a planet/moon in one of those three systems within 30 minutes of this post. Enjoy.
EDIT: It is now deployed, under the name of SFC Beginnings. Enjoy.

Well, I'm going to go look.:) I lost my second cruiser, a Vexor, the other day to two Guardian Initiates that both had warp scramblers on me. So it'd be nice to replace it.

Edited by: Aesj on 17/08/2008 07:42:04 I just found the ship! Thanks for this event Securitas!
Though, actually now that I think about it when I warped up to it it just said "Vexor" and nobody was home, so there is the remote possibility that I got some other random Vexor floating around?

Cans and Secure Containers can be found on scanner and also be found. I won't explain exactly how, but you will need a fast ship (preferred not needed), aswell a brain for using the scanner + bookmarking ------------

Edited by: Securitas Protector on 17/08/2008 16:45:05 The next prize will be a Thorax(going slightly up the value curve here) OR we have another option. A: We can change the price from free to 500k and hope enough people sign up to just cover the cost of it OR B: I can ask for donations to make this possible. The first seems more sustainable TBH, and a very small cost would make it possible for me to have very large prizes, seeing as their can be as many participants as there is interest.
So. Your choice, just vote one way or another.
EDIT: I have created an ingame channel "EvExp" for news, updates, and discussion of this series of events. Go ahead and join even if there is not an event on at the time.
