Originally by: Zhenga I saw people talking of this in a different topic and I have no clue what it is.
POS bowling is generally using a supercap (MOM or Titan) to bump people out from inside of a POS shield.
To do this people would setup a warpin on the opposite side of the POS than where the Supercap was warping in, the supercap would warp in at range and attempt to bump whoever was in the POS... This is now an exploit. ________________ REVIVAL

Edited by: Indigo Johnson on 28/07/2008 14:32:29 A while back, you use to be able to warp into the pos shields, if you were lined up correctly you would knock anything inside away and then bounce off yourself. This could be done with a covert behind the pos or another ship (intie) or whatever.
This was first classed as game mechanics acting as normal.
Then as an exploit (depending on which GM you got with your petition)
Then the game mechanics were changed so that if you were outside the corp/alliance that had erected the pos you would need to enter a starbase pw in order to enter inside the shields. You could also enter the shields if no pw is set after the tower is anchored and onlined (i think).
If you now attempt to warp inside the shields of a pos without having entered the starbase pw you will come out of warp 10 or so km outside the shields. It is therefore impossible to "pos bowl" anymore, unless you know the pw of the pos.
This also goes for friendly ships, many a capital has warped to a pos w/o entering the starbase pw or entering it incorrectly and found themselves outside the shields, after which they are swiftly dispacted by the opposition.
Also, if you log at a pos that has a pw, but you yourself are not part of the corp/alliance that has anchored the pos, upon your logging in again you will land outside the pos shields.
Anyone correct me if im wrong on the above.

Edited by: Raynar Alcohol on 28/07/2008 14:34:20 afaik you can still do the POS bowling if you have the PW of the hostile tower, although never really witnessed it was declared an exploit (the method with the warpins)
Computer games dont affect kids. I mean if Pacman affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music |
