Hi all
I have had some Problems lately with my Client. When I do missions, I often get a blue screen with the following code:
BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x00000019 (0x00000020, 0xfa5aa000, 0xfa5aa928, 0x0b250000)
I Googled the code and also did a search in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. It always suggests that some Memory might be the reason. So I got Memtest86 and tested the Memory, but I found nothing. I also don't think It's the Memory because I can play other Games like WoW or Race Driver: Grid fine all day long and nothing happens. But when I play EVE -> Crash after 5-20 Minutes (so far only in Missions!). I also want to say that I was able to run everything just fine until recently. I also looked up threads here but they were all old (but I'm also trying the things they said there right now).
Does someone here know a Solution?

What flavour of Windows are you using? I also serched MS KB and found, maybe the same as you: Bad_Pool_Header

Oh sry, forgot to mention, I'm running XP SP3. (Which is also one of my guesses, I can't say that it startet when I upgraded to SP3 but I can definatly say that it dind't happen before)
And yes, I had the same page, but it's really not helpful :/

Edit:
I think I got it. I looked on the German forums and there they said "Turn the sound off". Worked so far. They also said that lately, many people have problems with the sound. Is that true? And is there a solution instead the "just turn it off" thing (I like the sounds )
The only good recipe for sounds in EVE (and other games) that I know of, is a separate Soundcard. The "run-of-the-mill" onboard sound hardware is just crap if you ask me...

The memory issue is most commonly associated with extremely frequent EXCEPTION_GP_FAULT BSoDs, not BAD_POOL_HEADER.
Research the other possible causes of that BSoD, too, as memory issues aren't the only possible cause.
Statements in the above post, unless otherwise specified, are not the official stance of Lai Dai Infinity Systems. |
