Okey i have this problem, here is my system:
Znote 6214W. Xp pro. Genuine Intel« cpu T2500- 2GHz. 2GB DDR2 ram. Network card: Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. Videocard: Nvidia Geforce go 7600. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Here it goes: I donĘt have any problems with anything else then this. I am living in a place with a lot of others, non of them have problems with eve. I get this problem everytime I warp to a gate the system freezes for around 1-3 minutes then unfreeze and then freeze again shortly after, it keeps on doing this whenever I am at the grid with the gate, I have no other problem anywhere in eve. Last time I had this nothing I did helped, I had to reformate my computer and then it worked, but now without any reason I can think of it did it again and keep on doing it. CanĘt figure the reason, reinstalling eve doesnĘt solve the problem. Clearing the eve cache didnĘt help either, removing everything I can find about eve then reinstalling didnĘt work either. It only have this problem at the network where I life while on my work it works without problem. But the others at my place/home doesnĘt have this problem But do any one have any idea how to solve it?
Thanks in advance

Check your machine for viruses etc. what you are experiencing is eve having problems communicating with the network. [it could be a dodgy NIC lead] also make sure you are not running any torrent software or anything else that communicate with teh internet . -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve

NIC = network interface card... so he means your ethernet cable.
This could well be alot of things... if you get loads of hard drive activity i'd say it was a memory/page file issue... check running proccesses in windows before starting the client by pressing ctrl+alt+delete and make sure eve has at least 512mb of memory to use... also check your cache settings in the escape menu, try setting them low for a while. Try a different ethernet cable, or even better, a completely different internet connection if you can... that will help you isolate whether the problem is your computer, or your connection.
