FW Stats are being stickied here, which is just about the only thing one can find on these boards about FW. Cept when one suggests to create a forum section for FW discussions, its said it shudnt be held in EVE General, no it shud be in IGS with the roleplayers or in CAOD with the alliance issues.
WTG with being so consequent as with posting the sticky on the stats here and giving no clue whatsoever elsewhere.
Im just not able to seriously consider FW if there's no dedicated forum section. Not communicating about it only tells me its isnt given a platform or being recognized. Earlier post in here to get opinions on the issue seems to have gotten deleted.
Is CCP killing off its own latest baby? No RvR without rivalries, flamewars or vendettas and a good spot to harbor them.

Maybe CCP doesn't want another cesspool similar to CAOD.

No. Who in his right mind goes looking in a game development section of the forum to find info on the actual ingame situation of FW?
Ur right about GD having walkthru's tho. Fact that I went to just about any section of the forum cept there looking for info might just say enuf.
And still GD isnt the place to discuss rivalries between factions. Where's the active player looking for forum pvp gonna go to when at work? GD?
Fear of a cesspool? Cmon, this is a game that pretends to be mostly pvp focussed. Dealing with the forum side of that shud be expected. Denying it to RvRers is equal to not giving your RvR part of the game a chance. Rather embrace the rivalries, coz it will be at the heart of what keeps RvR going. It gives a face to a foe, that makes it all the more exiting and enticing. Why is that so hard to recognize?

I agree with you so calm down.
I am just guessing the way CCP looks at it. They want the FW stuff to be posted in CAOD and probably the reason for that is they would otherwise have to open a new forum and assign mods to monitor that new board. It is easier for them to lump it into CAOD. That is just my guess though.
I totally agree though that FW should have it's own forum for some of the reasons you described. Until then though, keep posting it in CAOD and annoy the crybabies there who hate FW or think the posts don't belong in "their" forum.

Well the description of COAD nowhere mentions FW specifically, hardly any1 posts FW items there, and I can imagine that when ppl do, it's generally not appreciated by the forum patrons over there, coz 0.0 and FW are simply 2 entirely unrelated and different arena's. So if not wanting to assign the indeed needed mod to a new forum section, why the heck launch RvR in your game, if you can't cope with the consequences that brings in terms of providing the right tools and facilities to let ppl have their feuds and vendettas?
I'm not targeting you personally, just hope CCP will get it in it's mind that not offering a platform for it, isnt the way to get viable or decent RvR going. I'd want to know the face and the ideas of the peeps Im fighting, along with hearing their taunts and jeers. It makes ppl want to get back in there and hit any target again. This shouldn't be too hard to recognize.

Edited by: GallenteCitizen20080615 on 01/08/2008 10:30:06 CAOD is fun ....there alot of trolls and the latest info on the failcascade of a alliance and the nearest titan being tackled yeah i cant finish that sentence
CAOD is fun to watch though i stay in there and pick of straglers
i suppose CAOD is the correct place though as it is a organisation of people or the alliance of the gallente federation for example

RvR?
Also, FW is faction again faction, the politics of it were made up by CCP, if you do much more than just blow things up you are taking it too seriously.
As long as GD is regularly reminded how awesome the Gallente are, all is well on the fora. IMO. -

CAOD peeps obvisouly have disdain for FW stuff, I don't blame them. Its just guartanteed that FW threads there spinn off into nothingness. If you go look you might find 1 unserious FW thread on each page. Doesnt work.

Thought out poorly. If peeps can chose to switch sides at any time, everyon will just gang up within the winning side. If it were race restricted you could still have population balance problems. There doesn't seem te be a well functioning population balancing system.
You might be all impressed with ur own Gallente, but if you go look at the stats n pull up kills per member, Amarr is still on top there.

At which point it will become boring due to lack of targets, people will leave, and balance will be restored.
As with most things in EVE, it is thought out well to be self-balancing.
Also, 'winning side'? Currently there is no 'winning' FW, just how many targets you killed, and how many dots you flew in circles around like the mission whoring carebear you are. -

Maybe, but killing the fun by having 3 empty nations doesnt seen like the right balancing tool to me.

What would you suggest? Conscription to keep the numbers even? That could be lulzy... -

I dunno, maybe maxing the availble number of spots in militias and tie them together to have a max 250 variation or so, so if 3000 Amarians join the others can have max 3250 and ppl wud have to join Amarr to increase their numbers till any of the other faction can increase the number of pilots they field too. Enuf Caldari will have the standings needed to join the Amarr and vice versa.
Thats just the first thing that comes to mind tho, Im no expert in balancing games. I was just saying fix as much as you can on FW and give it a proper platform, including forum, KB etc if need be.
