To be honest, I'd walk away from a face to face discussion with you after about thirty seconds. Something tells me you'll do nothing but interrupt people, speak over people and generally try to force your words over the top of other people.
I've got no time for people who aren't willing to listen to the opinions of others.

I'm yet to talk to any ex-veto guys, who doesn't get on with Verone.
Also, the fact you had to bring out those kinds of arguments, is just sad. If you have to actually resort to such things, you might just not post at all.

The key here is ex. If people don't like the way I lead, they leave or get booted. It's their choice. The fact that members keep coming back time and time again after trying other things says I'm doing something right.
I run my corp as a dictatorship, I don't masquerade as a democatic leader then try to silence people.
I find it amusing though, that you pull the discussion away from the CSM and to my corp, and persona as a player. I guess I hit a nerve.

Funny how thats generally the feedback we get from ex-veto. Seriously Verone, you are embarrassing yourself now. Presenting yourself as some kind of a paragon of virtue in an internet debate is laughable. You've clearly been bored and annoyed with Eve online for a while now and the cynical veteran syndrome is making you act poorly. I have no idea why you decided to pull out of the CSM elections but your bitterness over that affair is leaking into all your public discussions and its been noted by many people.
I have no need to defend myself to you of all people. I'd advise you to walk away while you still have a little dignity.

Exactly my thoughts Vista.
Sadly some people are shallow enough to resort to veiled personal attacks, it's just the way of the internets.

Hmm. Someone just got labeled a 'whiner', an annoyance, 'emo' and then supposedly ignored. That's hot.
Who is this Varona or whatever? Is it a she? Is she emo? Are emo's allowed to be cynic? Don't emo's stay on sesame street?

But not you eh Verone? All is fair when you are on the offensive but somebody dares to suggest you might be a little more introspective and suddenly you cry "no fair" and "personal attack." Review your posting in this thread perhaps? End of the day I've simply said that your high-opinion of yourself is not really justified by the opinions of other players in this game. You made it personal Verone, don't cry about it if you end up getting a bit of criticism in return. I imagine there are players that enjoy your "dictatorial style" there are others that don't. You (like everyone on this planet) are liked by some, and others you rub up the wrong way. You are not different or special and passing yourself off as some kind of paragon of righteous while engaging in an internet flame war won't win you any particular credibility.

Losing calm now Jade, starting to get annoyed and losing sight of the issues and opinions I've put forward? It seems like your posts are degenorating more and more into personal attacks when the pressure is put on.
I'm not bored or annoyed with Eve, I have a wonderful corporation full of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure to play online with. I've taken part in two alliance tournaments, wrote countless pieces of backstory, fiction, and articles for E-ON along with guides on these forums.
I've met some of the finest people I've ever spoken to, shared drinks with them and been given the opportunity to fly a number of times to the very home of CCP and meet some of the finest, most professional and skilled game developers in the business.
So no, I'm not bored with Eve. Ambulation and The Empyrean Age has broadened my horizons.
I suggest you try another personal attack, because clearly trying to insult my love for the game doesn't work.

What you interpret is a personal attack is your own opinion not mine. I've never taken a shot at you personally, just your attitude and your arrogance toward people who disagree with you. It's admirable that you speak with so much passion, sadly the agression you have is severely misplaced.
It was you who pulled my leadership, and other people's "opinions" of me into the spotlight in an attempt to take a shot at the player behind this avatar.
Sorry mate, but trying to turn this 180 doesn't float with me. Try harder.

didn't verone appear on those alliance tournament things? and narrate some of the games and that? jade I don't know where you're getting your bile from but unless he punched babies every time the camera was off him he seemed like a very nice, casual man. What's with all this 'meeting people at fanfests', 'internet toughguys' and you got 'no guts' rubbish.
anyhow for what it's worth my opinion in very short form is; this is a game, i do not want to play a game where game design could, under some circumstances, be shaped by a select few players who are not accountable (not on the ccp payroll). The idea is simply abhorrent to me.

Edited by: Zephyr Rengate on 02/08/2008 17:41:52 I thought Jade was an ok poster and CSM guy, but this thread beats me.
I do agree with that the CSM is overall just a PR stunt. It worked well with the people outside of EvE, NY times. But why I ask did only 11% of the EvE population vote? Because they saw it as worthless. If it was me at CCP I would have sc****d or re-done the elections to make sure they recieved a larger election turnout to make it show that overall the views of the EvE population. But no this did not happen because CCP knows they dont need the views of the larger population put forward in the current CSM.

Originally by: Vaal Erit Once again I am going to point out that the nano-balance changes have absolutely nothing to do with forum whiners and as proof I offer 8+ months of live dev blogs and developer interviews stating that speed balance was on their agenda.
Unfortunately, instead of bringing up issues from the playerbase, the CSM candidates are ALL working towards their own selfish goals and not looking for the wealth and well-being of the entire EVE community. So the CSM fails like most poorly run government organizations in which they are not really held accountable to their constituents.
For example, has any CSM member brought ideas to different forums/websites and ask opinions of many players in game? No, CSM members instead put in the least amount of effort and simply post on Assembly Hall and ask their friends ingame and think that is enough research into an issue. Hell, most CSM members don't even post/read the forums and when they do, post short one-liners in which you can actually see how inept they are. CSM Bane posted a decent thread on AH lately, but that is the exception, not the rule sadly.
You're like, the only forumalt that makes sense anymoar
Some of the more vocal CSM members don't seem to represent the players, but their alliance and preferred playstyle which they're trying to push down everyone's throats.
...whereas the ones who prefer a more welcoming, considerate approach (as opposed to: "This is my agenda and nothing you say is going to change it") tend to just get ignored.
IMO CCP should balance their own game based on their own research (as they seem to be doing). CSM was more a popularity contest than anything ...

Frankly I'm not sure what everyone's problem with the whole CSM thing is. From what I understood, they're there to bring issues to the attention of ccp, not vote on particular balance changes. Balancing is the job of the guys who work for ccp doing the balancing, largely because there is no (or much less) conflict of interest with them.
Furthermore, anyone who isn't a newbie knows that CCP takes -ages- to implement -any- change at all, and the CSM has only been around for a short time, so it might be prudent to wait a little bit before whining and drawing conclusions about the end result.

Players should be observed and not listened to if you are after a balanced game.
Speak for yourself...
Also, I would add that the CSM isn't intended to design anything; they're a communication liaison between the player base and CCP which is intended to streamline the issues players are having and the suggestions they come up with. That's it.
