Indeed, I even recall at least one thread requesting CCP remove the description "A bad woman" from the in-game item "Prostitute".

In fairness I wouldnt expect him to ever resort to violence, or even think about it for that matter, least of all over a bloody game.
Even provoked with continual insults and childish behaviour id still expect him to act with far more decorum than our CSM's elected leader is apparently capable of.
Standing next to Verone makes anybody look big. It must be like looking up from the bottom of a well in a crowd .
<3 V+Eomar!
p.s. Latter statements go without saying...
p.p.s. I was (and remain) a Tyson fan. We happen to be the same age and from the same area (Brooklyn NY). I had better influences though .
p.p.p.s. Thread simply proves that game design is best left to those who do it for a living (a la CCP). Simply delete the CSM-related area of the forums and return the CSM to providing nominal customer oversight over allegations of misconduct per the original intent. Said allegations being ancient history as far as customer churn in-game go anyway.
**EDIT**Thread also proves that Jade Constantine should return to running a virtual *****house where he/she can induldge in all the fantasy power trip games without disturbing the rest of us.
**EDIT**With regard to specific ship issues-If CCP desired intelligent player input towards balancing why not form a private consultation group of experienced and proven combat pilots (heck..chuck Chribba in there as well for the non-pew side) and solicit the opinions of them? Who would have a problem with Rells, Verone, Eddz, the dude with the glasses, Calmdown--basically the tourney commentating team with a couple of smart additions--in that sort of a non-public role?
Example-CCP wants to balance speed. They ask this theoretical private group for individual thoughts and use the feedback as a bit of guidance. It would work far better than the endless nerf/boost threads currently in the CSM areas.
-No more tail-chasing arguments. -No more wasted bandwidth that usually turns into alt-post flames. -CCP takes full responsibility. -The few players involved get private satisfaction knowing they are helping make the game a better experience without having to deal with the public.

I think all I'm going to say about the first half of that statement is that I have reason to question your discernment regarding it. As to the second, I'm more uncomfortable with player consultation instead being ruled by some hand-picked, closet Illuminati for EVE rather than the current ... system.

The point is exactly that, there is simply nothing to like or dislike in terms of people.
The people atacking Verone and the other people that agree with them belong to either one of 2 blocks, the ones supporting CSM and Jade, the people that just want to flame away.

Originally by: Victor Vision Edited by: Victor Vision on 03/08/2008 08:08:10 Some food for thought on problems with the CSM:
1) Lack of CSM interaction with players.
Typically the only CSM interaction with players I have seen is in threads were the CSM is openly attacked, and CSM representatives rush for its protection... like this thread here.
Another place of CSM interaction with the players is in the CSM part of the forums, but this part of the forums is little visited (one of the reasons may be point 3 in this post)
I think you make some great points. But there is no way we can force interaction with players.
There's always tons of people convoing me and things like that. So if people want communication with the CSM, it's surprisingly easy.
I can of course only speak for myself. I have not really got any idea, about how the other people interact with others. But you will see, if you go to the market discussion forum, that I have had extensive interaction with the people over there. Majority of the issues I have brought up, are based on feedback on those. And I have even gone as far as extended the minutes that has been posted, by adding comments and asking for feedback from the community on the communication from CCP.
Having said that, we can always improve it. This is the first council to take office. And I hope it can improve over time. There's tons of room for improvement, but there is some fundamental problems about the model that is being used. Go over to the jita park and look up some of the discussions I posted about how we handle certain issues.

Its not naive, its the way i am, i don't judge people solely based on what they write in the forums of a computer game, i may agree or disagree but i don't form opinions based on just that.
What else is the matter in here? CSM is failing so far, its their first mandate, true, and yet people are now more vocal on what they feel about it, i said multiple times in the begining that this CSM ideia wouldn't work the way it is implemented, Jade says it will and there is no hidden agendas, only the good of the playerbase, others say that there his personall agendas involved and CCP should be the main entity in making changes happen if they are needed.
Now feel free to add more if you think i didn't cover it all. _____________________________________

This.
Although slightly off-topic, I recall being a tad disappointed by what I saw published of the first big CSM meeting with CCP. I felt that some important economic/market concepts were too readily shelved for being either too hard or not important enough to worry about. Not by you, but by CCP. Though I can't offer an assurance of accuracy in that regard, this is just a very vague memory of something I probably only glanced over at the time.
Originally by: LaVista Vista This is the first council to take office.
Which the community will presumably have another chance to constructively affect, next time around. As opposed to the present equivalency of standing outside the parliament after an election, waving placards and being very red in the face - but hey, at least those doing so are burning calories I suppose.
Though to throw in my own two cents in the spirit of the current sign waving,
SCREW YOU, CCP! I VOTED FOR OMBER ZOMBIE AND I DEMAND FAIR REPRESENTATION, etc.

I really haven't noticed a single post ... from the Op, to the Ops supporters, even to the random guys who come in to post their 'distaste' for the CSM in general, down to the other members of the CSM who came in to make sure their own lack of faith was recorded ... not a single post, by a single player, makes me feel that the actions of Jade-whatever is non-representative of the playerbase.
Hey, when the playerbase is full of tools, can you really be so upset when a strongheaded, opinionated one gets put into 'office'? Do you HONESTLY expect the political office created and filled by an audience as ******ed and idiotic as our own to be serious? Come ON!
For one, those who are 'disappointed', she ain't president of a country. Get a life and save all that anger up for the you next state governor election.
Two, those who ARE CSM and yet, find reason to come into a flame thread to BASH another CSM? Yeah, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
And for this chief-CSM getting involved in a p*ssing contest with anonymous jack*sses, why? Where does it get you? And then, why not?
Cause these forums represent a small portion of the playerbase.
And to be honest, sometimes I think we have some of our dumbest players posting.

Edited by: Davlos on 03/08/2008 12:53:46 Ah, Jade Constantine. You should really try politics here in Singapore. They worship Caucasian skins, and with your way of dealing with the constituents who elected you to represent.... you'd certainly fit in here. A constituent who doesn't agree with me? I call him a non-human, untermenschen and scum, and forget all about his existence! Take a look at all of those dipilidated public housing estates with zero public maintenance because the district didn't vote for the winning party, and I'm sure you'd fall in love with us in no time.
I haven't really taken much notice of the CSM until I saw this conflagration here. And wow, Jade, that's a brilliant way to show your scintillating true colors to the entire public. Even US Senator Larry Craig couldn't have been more obvious with the foot-tapping in the washroom.
I don't know what you've done as Chairman Mao of the CSM, but frankly, I don't care. It's irrelevant, and has been as irrelevant as your unoriginal alliance that had its modus operandi ripped off blatantly from a half-baked sci-fi novel, and you aren't even a roleplayer as you claim to be, to "represent" us all. I was quite happy for you to have been elected, because maybe with your vocal nature, you might've accomplished something useful, but to gloat and brag in Local constantly about how 1% of the entire EVE population voted for you, and what kind of awesome mandate it was to push yourself around and impose yourself on others turned me off, and plenty others completely.
Even the politicians in Singapore aren't that dumb, despite their obvious exploitation of the people.
Also, having the CSM as a contagion for the playerbase to impose gameplay mechanics changes? What are you all smoking? Didn't you all see what happened to Star Wars Galaxies when the playerbase wanted the game to be like Counter-Strike?
Also, I'm ex-Veto, and I think Verone is fluffy. Where the heck do your get your intel from? Revan's nether regions? ---
