The NSA Is Building the CountryGÇÖs Biggest Spy Center (Watch What You Say)
Quite frankly a direct attack on at least the personal information freedom of every human being on this planet.
Quote:the Pentagon(aka. former War Department) is attempting to expand its worldwide communications network, known as the Global Information Grid, to handle yottabytes (1024 bytes) of data. (A yottabyte is a septillion bytesGÇöso large that no one has yet coined a term for the next higher magnitude.)
It needs that capacity because, "..we need to copy facebook and make a chatlog from every convo on all MMOs ever played."
This **** is getting ridiculous. |

......don't care, my fqacebook is full of lies, deceit and misinformation. Anyway I'm legally bound to fill in a census form every 10 year, something that has to be accurate. That sort of beaurocracy has been around for thousands of years. |

Tell me why should I care. I mean really do tell me. I'm not doing anything interesting or making threats, making racist comments planning a terrorist attack or doing anything illegal. I use the internet for work, shopping, banking and entertainment and maybe a little social networking. I doubt the US government is interested in a Brit buying a new pair of jeans or breaking up with his GF in Facebook or planning a WH raid.
Please don't forget that the internet is an essntially a public space and not a private space and that information you send over the web has never ever been private and you have no right to privacy. Also you don't own your facebook page, your twitter account or your eve account these are own by companies and they have always gathered and used information for statistical purposes to analyse the behaviour of the users. And that's hardly new either it's something that general motors has been doing since the 1930s.

That was meant as a joke in my OP. I regard facebook and most of the internet quasi as NSA-¦s backyard anyway.
And if I have to explain privacy or why a worldwide spying and data gathering agencies MASSIVE expansion is rather bad, then I won-¦t. Pearls before the swine(plz read as the saying not as personal insult) and all that.
I recommend pondering some history. Or don-¦t. |

Honestly I really am completely against TSA. The program is not only violating our civil rights but our physical bodies as well, and no one can say that the images are erased because there are websites you can go to to look at them which means some of those scrubs that get paid $10 h/r to manhandle you are also posting pics of you online. The system in it's very nature is way too overboard and the worst part is that it still doesn't get the job done. We have heard several instances of people transporting knives and guns onto planes still. I just watched a video the other day on how to hide an object on your side so the scanner won't even pick it up. People with no criminal records are being placed on no-fly lists because of clerical errors and it takes them upward to a year to get cleared of it. And exactly how many terrorist has this program netted us?
Israel has a hell of a lot better program that I feel we try to emulate. I mean guards are watching you before you have even found a parking space. They don't just treat every Tom, ****, and Harry like a criminal and perform strip searches on children and disabled people, they use a psychological aspect and keep an eye out for the people who may look nervous, glancing around more than usual, possibly sweating. They come up and ask some non intrusive questions and see what kind of response they get. Then it may escalate from there and move on to a security room. And wouldn't you know, they have some of the safest airports in the world. Unfortunately Bush played the game well and was able to introduce the homeland security bill during a time when people panicked which basically states that our rights can be trampled at will by the Government, thus making all this TSA crap 'legal'. |

Don't use the internet...? Not that I agree, but you do have the right to not use it. Dont want to buy car insurance...dont drive. Also as of now it's not selectively targeting people...rather like over hearing a conversation in a public space.
You can also use various things like onion or proxies or encryption to secure stuff...cracking it for 99.99999% of people is not worth the time so they wont care to. I dont believe even the NSA can get through above 256 yet. |

Lemme help you there, friend. You look like a proper dodgy terrorist. Planting bombs and planning assassinations of key personnel all day long. I'd kill kittens and puppies and bunnies I'd maim toddlers and teens and then more |

*Imagines a normal eve chatlog setting off a national panic*
Aljazeer Bombsalot: Ok, here's the plan, we're taking all our members and fittings bombs. Then we'll all move into the enemy's headquarters, deploy the bombs in the most populated group and make a run for it.
Deathtothemall: Ok, sound like a plan, don't tell everyone where we're going. They may have spies in the group, we don't want them being tipped off ahead of time.
Raepanddestroy: We'll have the other group move in afterwards and start launching all the missiles we just finished smuggling in covertly to finish the rest off.
Alah Akbar: What if we get trapped and can't make it out after the bombs are set?
Koran Warmachine: Then we'll go up in flames, but they will die in far greater numbers. It's for the greater good.
