Resson cat is named Bob: when he landed on our doorstep (literally, just walked up to the door while we were letting the Rottie in from the yard) he was (apparently) a kitten in terrible condition... limping, blood in both eyeballs, dried blood in both ears, couldn't hear (thus the limp, no equilibrium) and a mild case of worms, and we subsequently found out he is blind in his right eye - in the right light, you can see that his pupil is entirely clouded over. We also learned that the small cat, apparently a kitten, is actually close to three yours old but his growth was stunted likely due to malnourishment.
We don't know what manner of deviltry was perpetrated against him, but we sincerely hope that the people who so dramatically mistreated this under-grown cat diaf.
Anyway, why his name is Bob - at first, he appeared to be deaf, as he didn't respond to audible stimuli. At the time, that dancing stars show was on the air and that Marley Matlin (idk how to spell it) woman was on... and she's deaf. So, I wanted to make light of the situation, so I called the cat Bob... as in Bob Marley... Marly Matlin... deaf... I'll probably go to hell for that sort of humor, but it was funny to me at the time (and still is).
Once we cleaned the dried blood out of his ears, it turns out that he can hear just fine, though, so the joke sort of fails, now...
