Thought about pulling this out of the hangar and dusting her off. It would be mainly solo pvp, pirating etc. Anyone running with anything solid?

Not running with one yet but planning on flying one soon, obviously your running megapulse with 2 or 3 heat sinks and scorch/faction multi ammo.
Thats your basic fitting then you want a buffer probably, running solo will be hard for you since your flying a fairly long range ship.
Other than that fitting pulses for 100km range and shooting people up from where they least expect it.
Side note: LOL 62km optimal range with no mods for close range guns.

The thing with a Pulse Apoc is that broadly speaking, the only times you'll particularly notice a benefit is when the target is at 15-20km, and at 45-60 odd km. If the target is within 15km, then your range bonus means nothing and you're just doing less damage than either the Geddon or the Abaddon. Likewise, at say 30-40km all Amarr battleships would be using Scorch and so again the Apoc is having one of its bonuses wasted.
I have weighed up a Pulse Apoc for PvP a few times, but it seems (especially as I like to fly Amarr battleships as gank boats) that the loss of a damage bonus is in no way compensated for by the range bonus. I would take the extra DPS at 15km over the ability to hit things at 60km any day. (Even if you're stuck to T1 guns and thus crystals, the Apoc's range bonus allowing it to use a closer-range crystal is offset by the pure damage bonus of the Geddon/Abaddon anyway, so the damage at >20km range ends up being roughly equivalent, with notably lower damage inside of 15km.)
That said, Apocs are of course unrivalled amongst Amarr battleships for sniping. And on those lines, if you want to fit pulses to an Apoc the best bet is probably to go nuts with the Tracking Enhancers and locus rigs, and set it up as a "short-range" pulse sniper (you should be able to get over 100km range with Scorch without too much trouble...). But it's never really going to shine as a close-range damage dealer.
