I had an idea for the game that I think would be cool. I search the forums and saw no mention of it and was kind of surprised. I was discussing drones with a friend of mine and he started talking about the fighters in a carrier. I thought wouldnĘt it be cool to have a ship that could be equipped with frigate class ships that you fit to your specs and to be able to train the pilots who would fly them with the skills you want. Just like drones and fighters but more custom. So say the ship holds 5 frigate class ships you could train your pilots for interceptors cram 5 interceptors in there and have some PVP fun. Or maybe fit 5 mining frigates in your miner.
I thought that maybe the pilots would have a lower skill set than the main character and do not include learning skills. So you would be able to train your pilots based upon your characters current skill and the rate of training would be a random roll for the pilots attributes. Maybe even have a cost to keep your pilots employed to reduce the ease of everyone all of a sudden being godly. Just a thought to further the already vast custom possibilities of the game.

Severely overpowered boost to carriers if you ask me. I do think that carriers should be able to be boarded by human players in their ships (up to a predefined hangar bay capacity of course), and travel with the carrier through the cyno tunnel and into battle. But carrier-controlled frigates? Nah.

Right, and with walking in station we should be able to ride their backs. Like ponies! And then we give them pony tails as well! Yeah, and then we can use to get faster from the pod bay to the bar! And they should be pink!

It does not necessarily have to be carriers. I was thinking more along the lines of a new ship class. Maybe even a ship that has no high slots and very few if any mid to low slots. The fighters and pilots would all be NPC but the Player could control what skills the pilots have and what fittings would go in the ships. I should mention I have always been more on the solo player side so this idea caters to my wants and sometimes needs.
As I was traveling in my shuttle last night ą you know the ammar Darth Vader TIE Fighter one ą I thought it would be cool if I could mount just one weapon on it. Not to do any real killing but just for S and giggles.
To the flamers: I am happy I can make you feel better about yourselves. It gives me great pleasure to know that I can help those with RL shortcomings feel better through their online life.
