I have no issues with anyone being a carebear, but if he's carebearing in high-sec he should get less ISK for doing so then what you get currently.

Originally by: Ruze Carebear is, to me, doing anything that doesn't directly relate to combat with another player. Running missions, complexes, or ratting. Mining. Even producing things from the minerals you mine. These are what I see as 'carebear', so when I think of carebears, I'm not thinking negatively on anyone. If it wasn't for carebears, we'd have a serious issue with getting good equipment.
So if I choose to corner the market on say a certain missile comp to a point where you can no longer afford my prices then that is being carebear when you get your tail slaughtered because you cannot afford the missiles that only I make?
I'm sorry this argument just doesn't hold water. That is as much about being PVP as pew pew.
If we so called carebears didn't mine or ratt or do missions then you would have nothing to use to harass us or anything to hunt if we weren't here. This is called a parasitic cycle, this is EVE.

You'll notice in my quote I left out any mention of buying or selling anything. When you buy ships, ammo and some modules, and when you sell the looted modules, the minerals and the salvage, you enter the realm of PvP.
There isn't a split, though. Carebear is just those things specifically and primarily associated with NPC elements. No part of EvE is independent of player vs. player conflict.
So you want security? That's perfectly alright. But you should be willing to trade freedom and profit for that security. |
