Isn't it obvious, that the BIG Alliances, are the major drivers for the upcoming empire gank nerf? I support this, by stating the obvious, these alliances have to move *valuable* things through empire, through alts to maintain business relationships. The suicide gankers have finally driven the cost up for these alliances to start using their power to intervene in the game.
Moreover, it's far easier and more profitable to harness trit in empire vs null sec, and the suicide gankers are finally starting to impact mining operations in this area as well. I'm not sure if congratulations are in order or not. A tremdous downside to the empire gank nerf is that macro miners will continue to prosper, because just out right ganking them will be less rewarding to do now, as the only reward one has in ganking a macro miner is the knowing they took matters into their own hands to help fix a problem that has plagued the New Eden Universe for a long time.
I really don't care to be honest, because I'm an eve addict and I will continue to play the game until my addiction has been cured. I don't suicide gank, nor have I ever been suicide ganked, so this is a neutral post to the topic, and gives some food for thought.
Final thoughts - Be cautious of the applications and the tactics the GMs provide us in this game. The old saying of, "to much of anything could be unhealthy" applies very well to EVE. Use to much of one single tactic, and it WILL get nerfed, perfect examples are the recent nano ferries, and the rise in suicide ganks.

Yep this is 100% true. Goonswarm had enough of their alt miners in empire getting suicide ganked by jihad swarm...

Obviously true, at least partly so.
Just like the alliance 'P' nerf - which led directly to suicide ganking.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Edited by: Reika Wylde on 11/08/2008 13:09:57 I believe you might want to look at a member on the CSM who's entire platform was 'protect the carebears' for your finger pointing of who is doing what.

CSM is pretty much like the political process in the UK.
The population at large didn't vote for them and once in power do what they want anyway. /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game four years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig |

lol may be not but they ain't the voice of the player base with that mandate. Which is fine people didn't vote so they deserve what they get but it's the self belief thats displayed by the CSM when so few voted eludes me.
Considering the situation as it is I would try and engage with population and prove its usefulness to get people voting in the future. Rather than alineate the populace and kill the idea completely.

chuckle .. I believe this man is paying more attention than the OP. Man goes to the doc, with a strawberry growing out of his head. Doc says "I'll give you some cream to put on it." |
